Good Morning,
Susan had a great visit and we didn't do much other than rest and relax. We both needed it I think and I should make an effort to do more of that R & R . She didn't leave until after 4 yesterday afternoon and I already miss her. I am sure both girls will be here for Father's day.
Today I have to tie up the tomato plants yet again. John and I are taking turns doing it as neither of us enjoy that job. We have them in cages, but still many peek out and those we tie up. It shouldn't be long before we have our first tomato as they are getting quite large. This is the earliest they have gotten so big this quick. I just said last night that I can't wait to sink my teeth into a good homegrown tomato.
This is a busy week with an appointment for mother with doctor to get the results of the carotid artery scan she had done recently. Then Wednesday I have to go to dentist, but thank goodness this time it is just for cleaning.
This is today though and we are simply staying home. Good idea with the price of gas what it is. Amy and family are going to a Memorial Day celebration that her church is putting on and it is being called a water festival. I know Kyle will love it and our temps are getting up to 85* today. A perfect day.
A special remembrance for our troops that are sacrificing for our country today and especially for those now and in the past that have have given their lives to help us keep our Freedom. Bless their families today and everyday.

Hugs and Smiles
Becky

A Happy Memorial Day to you too.
Memorial Day always reminded me of my grandmother wearing a flower to honor her deceased DM. Anyone know which color was for living and dead DMs? We have a wall dedicated to DFIL who fought in WWII and never wanted to talk about his experiences. He received a field promotion to Sgt. when he was the only one left from his original unit. It is a sobering experience to realize what he went thru. BTW - our DGrS is receiving a promotion to Sgt. now that he is back in the states. He will leave the Army with the same rank that his DF had in the Air Force.
We will go to eldest DSs for a last minute cookout and lowkey outing. Most events in our area are pretty tentative - everyone waiting to see what the weather will be. I will pick a huge amount of fresh salad greens from our bed and take along. The spinach has gotten big enough to have cook for supper last night. Mmmm - very different than the usual frozen stuff we eat.
DH is happy as the proverbial clam today - we bought the big LCD he's been drooling over. We figured the prices were just going to keep going up (like everything else), so took the plunge. The power use is much less than the old big tube set we are now retiring to the basement for video game use. He'll never get around to playing them, hasn't in ages, but insists he needs a place to play games. I'm just his helper when he needs to connect wires. I also am the duster, as he moves stuff around he doesn't seem to see the dust that collects under electronics - LOL.
Sounds as if you could use a little more R&R - your weeks are so-o-o busy with errands. Do you try to get out early before the weather gets hot? I'm actually pining for some weather hotter than the high 60s which we have had for weeks. I like to sit outside and read early in the A.M., but it's been too cold and damp.
Becky, so glad that you and Susan got in some R & R!!!
