Housewarming

Well..we finally had our housewarming...yesterday

the weather looked like it would be bad..after days of sun..the only rainy day..as if to prove it..it started to rain minutes before the 11 am start...but the rain stopped....and held off until an hour after guests left...then a fierce thunderstorm

We had at least 60 people in and out all day..very nice..very positive...but very intense...lot to do

plus all the prep and clean up...we are pooped today

new hit recipe: Chicken Wing dip....not wings, cut up chicken...hot sauce, cream cheese, bleu cheese dressing

met lots of new neighbors, had lots of old friends..my dd, ds, dil and dgks ...

lots of positive feedback, many hadn't seen the house

(what was odd was the many people who said they were coming and didn't show up..inc our builder...but it was ok..there were so many,,any more would be that much more to deal with)

we were pretty worn out last night and today!

and then there was the food I forgot to put out! we had more than enough

dil made some great cookies...friends brought carrot cake and pineapple upside down cake

plus we had the magnificent cake from the cake lady..and she refused payment..said it was a housewarming gift! (see attachment)

wish you all could have come!!

Congratulations, Dutch on being the "hostess with the mostess". I'm sure now you can settle in and really feel at home in this wonderful new house. Glad the weather held off. And I always love to have party food left over - lots of nibbles around and much less cooking for a few days. Are we getting any pictures of the house?? Or have I missed them.

Dutch--what a beautiful home and such a lovely setting. Now that all the hard work is behind you I hope you can relax and enjoy it and i hope your feet are feeling better today. When we moved into this house 3 years ago I thought my legs and feet would never return to normal, but all is well, but i do not want to move ever again :-)
Have a happy Monday.

Good!! Yup--the work will wait for you and I believe you have to get to know each other--you and your house--before you know exactly what you want to do. I have tried to keep it simple--but things keep creeping in :-) How does THAT happen ;-)
Sleep tight!
