Rain, Rain, that is. Yet another Friday evening of storm warnings on TV and sirens going off. Today I ventured to the grocery store when I thought the worst was past, then had to wait outside for 10 minutes under the awning while it poured. The street drains are clogged with debris and some streets are impassable. DH 20 miles from us reported that he was up 3 nights this week bailing out his basement. The water was seeping in the walls on the opposite side of their sump pump. Big surprise was a crawdad in the water. They live about a mile from a creek, so you can see how high the water has been for the critter to travel inland. He thinks the neighbor across the street had his sump pump discharge rerouted to under the street and it is flowing in DSs yard. DS is so disgusted at this point there is talk of selling their house.

Phones were out for a short time today, but power is fine. Thank goodness, because now the temp is almost 90 and it is like a steam bath outside. The worst part for me is heat and humidity give me a headache. I've been running in and out taking photos in the sun of some dishes I want to sell on eBay and hope the last bunch turned out okay. I need to stay in out of the heat for a while. More storms predicted for Sunday. We sure are glad we didn't take eldest DS up on the invite to go to the 3 day campout for the local motorcycle club. It's on a farmer's field and I can just imagine the tales we're going to hear about bikes stuck in the mud. Even on an air mattress, we're just too old to party that hard - LOL. Give us A/C and a movie on the new TV and we'll happily "camp" at home.

How is everyone else doing with the storms and heat?
