What a fantastic trip!! The seven days at sea and the five on land.
First night was spent in Vancouver BC. What a beautiful city. It was voted one of the best cities in the world to live by the United Nations. We had a great tour of the city. They have the BEST farmers market I've ever been to. All I could do was look-- darn!!
Then off to the Ship. Those of you that have done this know what fun that is. Those that have not tried a cruise, do , at least once.
We did the inland cruise that stops at four towns and cruised by Hubbard glacier. I find it hard to even begin to tell all the wonders I saw.First port of call was Ketchikan where we visited a clan of natives that make totem poles.Wonderful stories all those poles tell. An education.
Next was Skagway, the Gold Rush town where the men going up the Yukon trail bought the supplies and treaked up the moutain. The train takes that trail. How the men did it I cannot believe. Many didn't make it.
On to Juneau, and whale watching. That was a lovely trip. and yes, we saw whales and sea lions too. Beautiful area. Bought some Alaskan Jade for my DDS.Had lunch at a saloon that was a brothal. Fun.
Icy Strait Point was a hihlight on my trip--oops
Just looked at the clock. I have to take a friends dog out and off to lunch, sooo this will be continued, AND, I want to read the posts too. See you all later-- martha

So happy that your trip was great, Martha!
Welcome home Martha. We took that trip too and the scenery is breathtaking - would love to take the whole family there someday.
Get some rest and get over your jet leg soon. We've missed you.
HUgs,
How wonderful for you.

Hi Martha, and it's so good to see you here and to read that you had such a wonderful trip.
Martha it sounds like such a wonderful trip, and you sure did deserve it. sounds like all the points I would like to see. Dave and Pam want us to go on our 50th anniversary next March, we might look into it. Dave goes to Alaska all the time for the associated press, but this would be exciting.
What kind of food did you get in the saloon, or was it just a museum? hugs
