Hoping you can all make heads & tails --

out of this, but this is what we have been busy doing!   As you read this, think of it with a sense of humor, the only bad thing that came out of it was that DH is now limping and he did say something positive.  Now that the foot hurts so much his knee isn't bothering him.  That's a plus!

I'm going to make it a quick 10 pointer

  1. It took us 4 days of hot and humid weather to get that dock in and finally finished today.
  2. DH has replaced tops with new pieces of wood where he thought needed.
  3. He missed one and put it down, stepped on it and almost went through.  (Keyword--almost)
  4. He thinks he has only metartasil #1 broken, but the foot is all swollen up.
  5. The water has turned warm in these 4 days, and yesterday a pipe twisted under water--do you girls really know what fun it is to fix one of these?  We finally got it out and had a new pipe waiting.
  6. I didn't come out with any casualties except a blood blister on my arm caught in between two pieces of framing and a few bruises on the legs.
  7. This dock is 48 feet long, made in four sections of 12' each, and each section has 2 tops of 6' each that fit into the framework.
  8. Of course, DH made this dock from scratch, and I will say that pressure treated wood is awfully heavy.
  9. He aches and I don't, but of course he does more than I do.  I'm only the helper.
  10. I got bitten on the arm by "something" and boy, did that welt up real fast and so red and itchy, and finally going away.

Toodle ooooooo---just wanted you all to know that I'm still around.  I have more work to do yet, so will just continue on with my day.  This is my "7" as the police would say.

A good day to all, hugs.

Bea I made complete head and tails of it, your dh is going to kill himself if he does not get off that dock LOL. Your going to be the one that is the worst hurt and he will have to hobble around to take care of you. Get off that dock LOL, and be careful what bites.............(((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

Oh Bea, that is so much work. Be careful. Can't you hire some young backs and strong arms to do that for you? My in laws live on a lake in the summer that's similar to yours. The

Bea -
I have to agree with the other comments here- you and your DH are working way too hard - I know you are in good shape, but lifting and straining that much is just asking for trouble. It won't help much to say "Well, we shouldn't have been doing that" after something really goes wrong. Take care of that man of yours - he suffers so much from muscle aches and pains anyway - and may be a little bit stubborn??? - but you are a strong woman - and I have a feeling that you can get your way when you want. Okay - I'm lecturing here - but I do seem to remember you lecturing Betty earlier in the week - so I feel justified. You want us to take care of ourselves - but I think you are not taking care of yourselves. So - forgive me- but I'm off my soapbox now. After losing our friend on the tennis courts this past week-end - playing in 95+ degrees - which was totally stupid - I think we need to assess our ages, abilities, and take it easy.
Love ya - Rosemary
