in amongst everything that is happening. I was determined to do some reading and posting today, and so finally am here. Busy isn't the word. Our oldest DGD Sara is coming in late tonight, and her boyfriend Matt will be with her as I didn't want her to trave 500 miles each way alone. I just don't know how Kaci kept her sanity knowing that her niece traveled for about 1,500 miles alone. Sara won't get here until about midnight or 1 or 2 a.m. depending on travel conditions and that they don't get lost and also on what time they actually leave. DH is planning on making the pizza when they walk in the door--and I already told her and she is looking forward to it because when her dad and she came one night about the same time, they smelled that pizza coming out of the oven just as they slammed the car doors. DH probably can't time it exact like that again, but they did arrive with an appetite, and I expect it will be the same this time even though they are bringing snacks for the car ride.
I have made potato salad, macaroni salad, 4 bean salad, tossed salad will be made later, and have made a pistachio dessert and a Hawaiian Salad for fast desserts along with the normal ice cream, yogurts and separate chocolate and vanilla puddings that we bought. Have chicken, sausage, h/burg, frankfurts for the grill along with kielbasa and if anybody wants steak it's there too. I have a feeling that we are going to eat out Friday and Saturday and it will only be snacking and nibbling here at the house and just a cook-out Sunday before they leave. Also making plans to see Uncle Mike one of these days (Friday or Saturday) so think our time is going to be very limited to squeeze much more in. They want to see Boston, we want to show them the Canal and go to the Cape, possibly Plymouth, and Uncle Mike lives in completely the opposite direction, so-----------
I got together with our friends for the cookout with our friend that came up from FLorida. What fun. I had to make all the arrangements even though it was at our friends Carol's house, and instead of a cook out it was a cook in because of the rain. Her DH did steaks on the indoor grill and she did chicken in the oven and all kinds of salads and potato salad and pasta salad also. I brought the dessert and it was a big hit, and we had coffee, and then she passed around a box of candy and I didn't want any and she insisted and I thought I was going to gag on it, but I quickly went and got a glass of water to get it down. Where is the WAHOO when I need it? We were the only ones taking pictures, DH and I, and we had them all (only 7 of us) in fits of laughter and Carol wrote to me and said we have to get together more often, that I was the life of the party and knew how to have fun. Well, of course, at my age I intend to have fun, and got them dancing and laughing and when we left I think my DH laughed all the way home. He says I "just have a way"~~~~
The whole upshot of the whole 7 of us is that DH and I are friends with everybody, the FLordia gal is the sister of one couple and that's the couple that brought her, and Carol and her DH and the couple that brought up the FLorida girl don't get along, and that's why Carol asked me to please do the inviting and set the date and time, so I did, and it all turned out great. They have both written to us and told us what a great time we all had. LOL! I sent pictures to all and even cropped a few for them and they just keep thanking us and well--what more can I say?
Now, the sad part--Claire I couldn't get on the phone for two nights and she ended up in the hospital for testing on her sciatica which they also continued testing her back and found out she has spinal stinosis or Degenitive Disk Disease, and they claim that neither one is connected to the sciatica in her case. They wrote script for pain and she read all the side effects and she won't take it. Well, she has leg cramps so bad that she can hardly walk, and I also told her that years ago I was told to drink more milk or get more calcium because of leg cramps, so she doesn't know if that is part of the sciatica or not. So, more dr. visits. I also told her that DH has DDD and has had to learn how to bend, left properly (with his downfall being his weakness in his hand), etc., and she claims that now that she is alone she can't do all that stuff. I told her she can but she has to always think of these motions before she does them. Well, we probably won't get to see her until after DGD is gone, but will have to get over there--I know it must be tough for her to be alone and there are a lot of "man" jobs around her property because her DH did a lot of things that she wasn't even aware of but is now becoming very aware of.
So, on and on I go, I hope that everybody is well, and I will try to get here more often, but at least I've been able to say "hi" and wish everybody the best. A good day to all, hugs.

Hi back to ya.
