We went to NY to DGS's graduation, and it was just great.  We left about 4 a.m. and rode 8 hrs. to get there, then after about 6 hrs. of riding I looked at DH in horror and said that "I forgot the gift".   Eeeeeeek.  So, quickly to a store to get a card about crazy people going to graduations, and one of those fancy bags to put it in, and a check to sort of close the deal.  Anyway, DGS was very happy with it all, so we explained that the real gift was at home, and now after riding 8 hrs. each way for the graduation in a 3 day time period, we are now going up Wednesday starting out at 4 a.m. again (with present this time) and stay and spend dinner after DS gets home, and then turn around and ride the 8 hrs. home again at night.  We will have about a 4 hr. reprieve to rest while there, and then just hop in the car again.  They are all telling us not to do it and it can wait, but we both want to get it to him so that he can enjoy it and look at the special card I made him plus I know he'll like the $$$ in that one too.  He's getting double, but I don't care, he's so much fun and he deserves good things to happen.  Works in a pizza parlor for the summer and then college in the fall, and playing his saxophone for coffee houses and some functions--very active grandson I have.  We're all proud of him.

A good day to all, I hope that every body is well, really haven't had much time to read.  To be honest with you we are both exhausted.  Hugs.

Life on the lake!

At least you could solve the problem with a quick stop at a store. Years ago we were 2 hours out on the road when I remembered I had forgotten my shoes to wear to our niece's wedding. As I wear a large, narrow size, we had to turn back and get them. I wound up changing my clothes in the car instead of hotel, as we didn't have time to check in before the wedding. Ever try to put on panty house in a hot car in August (before we had a car with A/C??). Now when we leave the house DH asks I have all my shoes - LOL.
