Crabing

Today is the first day of crab season here in Washington.  Dh had to get up at 5:30 in order to get the boat launched and the crab pots in by 7 AM.  I got to stay home and sleep in for a bit, or at least that is what DH told me.

He called at 9 AM to make sure I was up and getting ready to come down to meet him.  We had a pretty good day.  Not as warm as last week, but nice.  We are only allowed to keep 5 male crab per license.  The crab must be at least 6 1/2 inches across the back of their shell.  So although we had a lot of Dungeness crabs in our pots, we only had 6 keeps, so one went back into Puget Sound to wait another day.

But we are having Dungeness crab tonight for dinner.  I also got an nice lunch out of the day. DH took me over to Coupeville for a hamburger on the pier.  It was nice.  So all in all, I had a great day.

Lou, we, too, camped with a tent when our children were young. I remember once having 2 in diapers & a 3 rd. who was 3 years old. Now I wonder how I did it! The shore of Lk. Michigan was our favorite & still is, but now it's a hotel a few blocks away. Your sleeping situations sounds like mine! One year we took a foam mattress that covered almost all of the floor...talk about the Beverly hillbillies...LOL! The good old days that our children still reminisce

Cal:

My DH still tells the story of my being bitten by the mosquitoes.
