We are back!

We had our one day jaunt yesterday (Wednesday) and all went well.  Left at 3:30 in the a.m. as we planned, got there and spent about 6 hours and left right after supper about 6:20 p.m. or so, and got home at the lake about 1:45 a.m. this morning.  I loved every minute of it.  This is the first trip we have made up to son's family and not stayed overnight, and we did just well.  Of course, DH slept very late this morning and is really just getting up.  The whole family arranged everything around our 6 hrs. with them, and DS even took some a important meeting scheduled for 4 p.m. and made it a lunch time meeting and he came home also about 2 p.m.  We had so much fun with them, and I got to spend one on one time with each of the three DGC--ages 22, 18 and almost 14, and so many hugs between us.

Does anybody here text?  Between DGD Sara and DGS David they have been showing me, and I can do it fairly well, but not as fast as them but have learned a few tricks.  They have also taught their mother Joy and so I texted them all when we got home last night so as not to have any cells or phones ringing, and she texted back "glad you came up, you are just awesome".  Now, that in my eyes is a great compliment from my DIL--she has done everything in her power to make us so welcome over the years and still continues to do so.  When DH wanted to leave and just drop the present off, she wouldn't hear of it, she insisted that we stay for dinner--all worked out well, and we all danced in the driveway for our fairwell departure--I don't mean just Bea danced, I mean all 7 of us danced, even DH got in the act as best he could.  What fun!!!

Everybody have a good day, picture the lake with small laps of waves slapping against our wall, the Canada Geese families swimming by with mother in the front and father in the back, the mallard families with mother in the front and the father is resting somewhere but babies all stay in line, and the blue heron few by flapping his big beautiful wings, and then our family of mother/father swan with 5 little gray babies that will soon get a mottled look and then turn white as adults and they are not mute swans either--I've seen it all within the few hours I have been sitting here.  It just couldn't get any better.

Again, a good day to all, hugs.

Life on the lake!
