Happy Independence Day

It's a lovely sunny day here in Wisconsin. I'm looking forward to some outdoor activities with some of my kids and grandkids. I'm not sure if I'll head down to the lake by ds or if I'll head to town by the rest of the family. We'll see who calls me first and how the spirit moves me.
So, what has everyone else got planned for today?

Our youngest DS has a big yard and house, so he has an annual potluck on the 4th. Last year was the only time we didn't go - DH and DS weren't speaking and I wasn't up to questions about where DH was. Now that they've patched things up, we'll go there mid-afternoon. I will take along a family favorite - deviled eggs (I add minced ham to the yolk mixture and sprinkle with fresh dill. Plus have a bowl of cantaloupe balls ready to go. Everyone hangs out there until they want to leave to watch the community fireworks. We will skip this part because DH hates the big crowds and congested traffic. I kinda like all the hoopla, but am usually overheated and overfed by then anyway and ready to come home. DH and I have a tradition of watching the movie "Independence Day" on the Fourth. We watched the first 1/2 at lunch, will pick up the rest after we get home.
Saturday will be busy doing laundry and packing for our trip to Indianapolis early Sunday to attend the Theater Organ Society's annual meeting. DH is already starting to over-plan our time, but we will be bussed to various sites, so DH will just have to cool his jets. The important thing is to just get there on time to sign in and get on a bus at noon. DH always starts out every trip going on about how we need to leave early. Then, at the last minute he thinks of a dozen things he needs to do. There I am in the car, cooling MY jets.
Hope you all have a safe day.
we had a cloudy, overcast day for the 4th
but we went into town to see the parade: even had tractors!!
