I have just read Dave Barry's description of his  colonoscopy; I still have laughter tears running down my cheeks.  Since my last colonoscopy was not too long ago, his description struck me as being quite accurate.  Hey, I wish I had thought about the Vodka!  But, I guess his assessment of the situation would have been accurate.  It is a loooonnnngggg way to my bathroom from my kitchen, where I was drinking that wonderful mixture.

It's good to see Martha on the board; I've been missing her.

DH is not feeling very well today; the Plavix has finally made him realize how bad it made me feel!  It is just not for either one of us.  I'll run the risk of the heart attack before I have to feel like that stuff made me feel.  He did call the Dr. himself, and got to talk to her at about 3 pm.  She told him to stop taking the Plavix and go back to the 325mg Aspirin.

We did get some thing accomplished today; there is a shelf that he had prepared to put near the back door that we managed to get screwed to the wall.  That made him happy, although very tired at the effort as well.  This afternoon we worked on the driveway alarms that I've been wanting for 2 or 3 years.  We didn't finish them, but we're 1 day closer!

Shall we all meet at the sink?  There's plenty of everything for everyone.

I love Barry's humor. The last time (and the first) that I had the procedure, I seriously told the MD that they needed to edit their instructions. He was surprised and asked what was wrong. I told him that there should be a note to (1) wear clothes you are willing to throw out and (2) don't plan on being more than 10 feet from the toilet. He did admit that some people use the adult diapers during the prep time. Thank goodness he told me he didn't want to see me until 2015. I may skip the pleasure by then.

I hear you on the Plavix - got the same reaction, but DH has no problem with big dose 2x daily. I heard a news report that they have found a genetic component responsible for some people getting the terrible aches.

Lottie,

I have recently read Dave Barry's description of his Colonoscopy and it was very hilarious as are most of the things he has written. My DH has had 2 of the dang things and he didn't find anything humorous about either one..LOL..As for me I have yet to have my first and my doctor doesn't insist thank goodness.

It is always nice to see you on the board. Are you all as dry in your part of the country as we are? As nearby as Charleston is to us,
