Today turned out to be very special. A friend here turned 90. We surprised her with a luncheon of 28 people. Had a beautiful cake, baloons, cards, flowers, all for this lovely lady. She still does just about everything. In fact she drives one of the other ladies to shop and to the bank. She has always been a very giving person. She only has a nephew and he's not near here, so we are family.Just seeing her face as she was truly surprised, made my day. This lady took care of an alzheimer husband for years. She didn't have a pie in the sky life, but always has a smile and a good word for all.
On Thursday it is actually her birthday. We go to the senior lunch that day. We found out SHE has ordered a cake for her day to share with all that are there.
This lady is perfect proof of growing old and having a good active life. Health is of course the most important to having a good old age. Don't fear getting old. Keep your body active as well as the brain and enjoy each day.
Hope I can get to a age like that, and keep active and loving-- martha

Hi Martha, that's a very inspiring message and it's so wonderful to hear of our sr.s that reach that age and still have their good health.
Keeping on the go, and exercise, seems to be one of the secrets of long life-- you're never gonna go as busy and giving as you are.
Thanks for the kind words-- martha
Martha,
I think you have a great leg up on this aging thing. I stay very busy, but I am not real good with other types of exercise right now.
