Yesterday's storm

Yahoo, I can post! We had such a storm yesterday it almost knocked me off my feet! It thundered so loud, the lightening was all around us, the hail--yes, hail--was pounding down all over the place, the waves were slapping over the wall, the clouds were deep and low. Well, not expecting anything unusual, except we have to unplug everything (t.v.s and computers) I was folding a simple little dish towel in the kitchen area and DH was up in the bedroom looking out over the streetside of our little house, and he saw the lightening strike a tree across the street--I heard the loud crash of thunder immediately as it seemed like the lightening ran right down the side of the house as I was near the window and I couldn't have jumped this far if I had planned it. With dishtowel in hand, I ended up flying about 10' sideways across the room. Landed on my feet, and didn't know what happened. I didn't purposely jump, it just happened, no I wasn't struck, but just couldn't believe the reaction that I had. I yelled for DH, he was up still looking out the window, I found him and told him what happened, and he said that everything would be alright. Yeah, my comment--this is NOT my home to retire in--YEOW, never want to go through that again.
A note, at home in the city, we would never even have noticed the storm unless we lost power. That's the difference in the construction of the two places. Amen, thank you to the man upstairs for protecting us.
A good day to all, hugs.

Very happy to hear you didn't get hit. Florida is the lightening capital of the world. Here we are told to go inside if we just hear thunder as it can strike from
