And it's all our Darby's fault - LOL. I visited her lovely home and fell in love with her red kitchen wall. Then my grandaughter put up a kitchen border with dark red apples and aqua bowls (just like my Fiesta pieces), so of course, I bought the border 2 months ago. The guys have stripped the plaid 80s wallcovering from the back splash area and it will be painted red. The rest of the kitchen will get a new coat of neutral paint. A new pre-finished door is replacing the basement door which has multiple coats of paint that are peeling. This is the door DH and customers use and it gets a lot of hand touching. DH agreed that the time and $$ stripping the old door would be better spent just putting in a new door.
The poorly done wall cloth in main bath has been stripped, paint will go up. DH agreed that it was time to get rid of the sliding doors on the tub. Too many hard water stains and hard to clean the tub. Lastly, the top of the hall paneling is being painted to match the living room and the dirty textured ceiling is being smoothed and painted. Worst mess is the metal louvered fan grate that covers the whole house vent in the hall ceiling. It has gotten greasy from cooking and cat hair is always sticking to it. They will take it down, degrease it and spray with fresh paint.
Whew, makes me tired just watching the guys work. Best part is one of them is DS that had the no talking spell with DH. All is well now, they've both realized they just need to keep out of each other's business.
