WOULD YOU BELIEVE THIS? IT'S TRUE...

We invited Carol and Rey here for dinner Wednesday night, and it was the best day all week so we had dinner on the deck.  Well, ten minutes after they were here the doorbell rang, and not bothering with many people around here, we were puzzled as to who it could be, but DH answered the door and in walked Val (she lives down the street) and she is all bent over and she barged her way past DH and walked right through the house and out on the deck and sat herself down in between all of us.  I had the table set, she put her drink she was carrying on it, and we were with either wine or beer and she didn't care one bit that we had company.  I introduced her to Carol and Rey, and also said that we invited them for dinner, and she replied "well, I have already eaten my dinner".  So, who cares I thought, that should be enough for her to leave.  Nope, no way.  She kept on talking, nobody could understand her as her voice was very soft, she just had surgery about 6 months ago for Parkinson's which involves cutting into the top of the brain and she proceeded to show us pictures, etc.  I told her I had to start cooking, and she said "go ahead" and just sat there.  Finally, DH got up and said he had to get the grill going, and she said "don't let me stop you" and kept sitting.  Now I'm getting a little ticked as I decided that if she is that nervy then I refuse to ask her to stay as an uninvited guest for dinner.  Anyway, Carol asked if she could help me, I said no at first.  DH had the chicken and sausages on the grill, I just had to cook fresh carrots, heat up green beans, macaroni salad was made and all I really had to do was open the cranberry sauce.  So I run out on the deck and told Carol that I needed her help, and Carol gladly came in which left Val alone as Rey was with DH at the grill.  Well, I think she finally got the message.  But as I opened the cranberry sauce on one end and turned it over to open the other end to push it out whole, I saw that the can had that new type bottom (rounded) and said to Carol how do I get that out, and Val was standing right there between us and said slide a knife around it, so as I gasped I slid a knife around it and she turned on her heel and walked out the door.  I followed her to the door and apologized that we didn't have time right then to talk and catch up (and I didn't say maybe another time either) and she just stomped up the steps and driveway and was on her way.  Our neighbors were sitting on their deck next door and kept staring at Val as they couldn't imagine why she was in my house--I waved to them and they never saw me, they just kept looking at Val.

We ate at 8 p.m. and all the food went over good as we were all good and hungry by then.  Oh yes, had a humongous salad also.  DH said he was never so stunned in his life as Val just barged right by him without saying a word.

P.S.  All names have been changed to protect the innocent!  LOL!

P.P.S.  Also, I have only seen this "Val" about 5 times to just say hello to in passing in the 23 years we have been here.  It sure was an odd situation.

Flustered then, but now looking back it was kind of funny!!!

I have just enough of my Aunt Minnie in me I would of thrown her out and told her on the way out that she was rude, uninvited and to take her bad attitude with her. She may have Parkinsons but rude is rude, don't
