Well, I'm going to get another appt. with thr Dr. to ask some questions. He is so busy, I hope it will be soon. I have lots and lots of questions.I finally just had to go out today to the Post Office and grocery shopping. Since I had not felt able to go for a couple of weeks, I gave up, and for the first time, used one of the electric shopping carts to do it all at Wal Mart. Goooood decision! The nauseating loricet worked pretty well, and I could take more time.  What a blessing! When I got home I was able to get it all unloaded and the perishables put away. Yippee!

God Bless You,

It was probably good for you to get our of the house, Ava. Smart of you to use the cart...why not? Good luck with your Dr. appt. What is "loricet"? Hope you're feeling good today. BTW, what are you doing up at 4:40 a.m.?!?!? Cal

Hi Cal,

Loricet is a dopey pain pill. I don't take anything often, I still have most of the 30 from the original prescription.

Ava, so good to hear that you were able to go out and do a few errands and even put everything away.

Hi,

Bless your heart for helping reach things for folks like me. Praise God! I can still get them myself... I just cannot stand and walk a long time....the pain is too intense. I'm going to see the surgeon on Monday to be examined and set up a date for the surgery. I do want to be able to "go and do,"

Reminds me of an incident at one of the pipe organ concerts in a church. The hall to the chapel went up at an angle. I was leaving the chapel for a minute and saw a woman pushing a very heavy man in a wheelchair. They were no Spring chickens and she was huffing and puffing. Grown men walked impatiently around them to get to the "best" seat! I stopped and said "let me give you a hand", and grabbed one side of the chair. The poor woman almost burst into tears. I hope those guys were shamed by this 68 yr old, but I doubt it. Just self centered jerks.

I do notice that the newer stores are making the aisles wider to accommodate the motorized carts and regular carts. Kids running around pushing the carts are way worse to deal with than a motorized one.

Ava,
I also try to avoid taking too much pain meds, but finally gave in yesterday. Any strenuous activity gives me a fibromyalgia flare up, and all the recent work in the house made take to the bed on Thursday afternoon. I finally gave in and took 1/2 of a Darvocet and felt much better. My MD is into quality of life and told me to take 1/2 doses regularly so I can keep going. He thinks the health hazards of getting no exercise is way more dangerous that taking non-habit forming pain killers. Of course, I still try to tough it out. Dummy me. Today I feel much better, working on hanging up art work on newly painted walls. Slow work deciding what goes where.
