last weekend my front tooth cracked, a chip came off..my regular dentist's office  was closed until Sept 2.

Luckily I found a new dentist in the phone book..he got me in the next day and it was fixed by 10 am! I was so pleased.

well, it broke again last night..even more! and we had the dgds here!

so..back I go tomorrow

We made the best of the weekend: took the dgds to a 6th playground: ending the "Summer 2008 County Playground tour I had promised"..they love it and it is free fun!

then back here to play in the kiddie pool

last week I was able to spend Thurs afternoon with 2 friends..nice, had lunch

then Sat we had 3 couples here for a BBQ

today we went to ds and dils for a BBQ..nice

End of summer? schools open here this week

dgd,4, will go to pre-k 5 days /week now :(

BOb and I attended a workshop for subs..we are both on the sub list now

oh and Thurs night we watched TV at the house of strangers!! LOL we saw Obama's speech with some other members of moveon.org...it was great...

since you asked..I find Palin scary..narrow-minded...not nearly knowledgable enough to be VP (or POTUS if the old guy kicks) As evidence: her misunderstanding today of the Freddie Mac/ Fannie May crisis

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/a-confusing-com.html

(even I understand it will cost taxpayers NOW that the govt had to take over, and we got there due to deregulation...which we got from Phill Gramm, McCain economic advisor until he made the "nation of whiners comment)

her lack of knowledge of international issues will be awful at a time when we need more international cooperation

I did not care for her speech or demeanor at the convention: reminded me of the "mean girls" in HS !

I would prefer someone intelligent, more compassionate, more diplomatic

sorry if I got carried away..

Dutch,
I appreciate that you put a web link up, along with your opinions. I am so frustrated with the political email I receive from friends on both sides of the aisle. Many are full of half truths and downright lies. I keep replying and sending them to urban legend websites, but it doesn't seem to help. As for me, this is the first election in my 50 years of voting where I will not vote. With the condition of the nation, I am convinced it won't make much difference who gets put in office -

Our state government is in disarray, caused by friction with the governor (who I voted for) and the legislators. I've seen first hand how they react to heavy handed leadership (or lack thereof) and it ain't pretty. I'd hate to see the same kind of relationship in the White House.

Jaquie

thank you for your input on my post..I was afraid I got a little carried away and did not want to be inappropriate. But I have been pretty passionate about it

I too have been bombarded by "hoax" emails, I would carefully check them out, often at www.snopes.com, and politely reply to the sender with the truth (JUST LIKE YOU DID)...thinking, innocently enough, they would want to know the truth..NO! One woman even replied that she didn't care..which means THEY WANT TO SEND LIES!

It is so frustrating..

I would like to believe it still does matter...that you vote..I will read that link you sent

Right now I am just hoping I won't have to hear that woman's voice for 4 years

if you want to email me privately, please do
