Fall Decorations

I've been reading posts but haven't posted very much.  Summer is always such a busy time.

We have a cool (57º) day today, and it's a drizzly, rainy day too.  My agenda for today is to work on the house and, thankfully, it's cool enough to do it comfortably.  I plan to spiff up the house and then get out all my fall decorations.  So, out will come all the fall tablecloths, candles, colored leaf candleholders, centerpieces, pumpkins, scarecrows, etc.

I hope you all are doing well and that God will look down on each of you with a smile and give you a good day.

Take care,

Yep, this cool spell in the Midwest gets the decorating juices flowing. I'm on overload with fall flowers, as I have all the silk flowers for DGrDs wedding at our house. Her bridal shower is being held here on Sat, and I just need control myself from decorating every inch of the yard, where it will be held. I will change out the summer fruit from the big wreath on the deck to the fall look, plus pop in some mums in pots where the petunias are looking pretty shabby. Fortunately, the plants will look great after the rain we are having today. I don't usually put up a lot of decorations in the house, because one of our kitties is a "pouncer" and considers everything fair game. I will plan a trip to St Louis in late Oct. for DHs birthday. We drive along the Great River Road and the colors are breathtaking.

I was in St. Louis once, when we had a gathering from another board.

I'd love to go to Branson, but DH has no interest. So, if you ever want to road trip together, let me know. I can share a car and driving, but need my own hotel room - light sleeper.

Wonder if you saw my DS on the TV last weekend. He rode his Harley and met up with my DB. They share the same birthday, 7 years apart. DS wore his local club vest and apparently it was a hit with the media. The big embroidered patch on the back is a white sheep with a wolf coming out of the top - proverbial "wolf in sheep's clothing". They are strictly social group.

Hope our rain lets up overnight, as DH is chomping at the bit to go out target shooting. I could use a break from all this flower girl dress sewing. I've been gathering miles of netting.

DS's group got there first. After one night camping with the thousands of people, they weren't doing it again. Fortunately, they had motel reservations after that. The next night, they met with DB at a concert, but it was so packed and hot, they all gave up and went for a nice ride. Seems they ran out of water at events, the facilities were horrendous. DB says never again - just way too many people. And he goes to Stergis gathering every year. The difference is a LOT of space for them to spread out in.

Rain finally stopped this afternoon. We had a minor flood in one corner of the basement, where it seeps thru the concrete block when the ground is saturated. Fortunately, it was the kind of flood which could be soaked up with rags, then the rags were tossed in the washer. Very cool here, but DH says it's still too damp to open the windows. Phooey - I love sleeping under covers with the windows open.
