What can I say about a shower with a bunch of pomegranate Mimosa drinking, giggling women dressing 3 of them in the traditional toilet paper wedding gown??? The MOB group one the prize of CHOCOLATES. Remember the scene from Music Man where the older women were dressed up in Grecian style and put on a play with poses? Well, that's what she looked like - LOL. We had way too much food, so DH and I will be living off it for days. Only irritating part was that stepmother of DGrD did not say a single word to DGrD. Just sat to one side with her daughters and read over school fund raising stuff! I can't believe how rude the younger generations have become. Her problem is simply that she is not running the wedding. Well, DGrM has a DM to work with, and stepM has a second daughter's wedding to run in a year. I declined going bar hopping with the younger gals, was tired out by the time we wrapped it up. Also didn't think it was appropriate, although the MOB went along gladly. The weather was great, I decorated the canopy in the yard with bows and streamers, covered a card table with white fabric from my stash - had enough to pool the fabric on the grass, so there was a nice display of gifts. The theme was retro, so I wore a red dancing dress, every strand of pearls I own, then teased my hair to a beehive and put a red bow right in the center of the crown. Remember that look? Kinda Sandra Dee.

DH & I headed out to target shoot this AM, only to find the clubhouse had been rented for a family reunion and no shooting was allowed today. DH was steamed, but I told him we really should stick to shooting on weekdays, when most of the rest of the members are at work. Doing laundry today and just enjoying the early fall weather. I will actually get to sit on the deck and read again! One of the reasons for living in the Midwest is the changing seasons. I could never leave.
