Here I am!

I just got down to where somebody asked where I was--well, here I am.  I could never forget my friends that are like family here on the board.  When Hanna came she was bad to us.  The day before Hanna we had heavy rains that dropped 3 1/2" on us, the next day we had Hanna with high winds but not the worse we have seen, and rain but not as bad as the day before.  Well, it was the day before that we lost our power a few times, plus lost our phone and that means no computer--eeeeeeeeeek, and no flush, I'm telling you--you can take Bea out of the city but you can't take the city out of Bea.

We went about 4 or 5 days without the phone, and thank goodness that our youngest son had insisted on including us in his cell phone plan as that is how we ended up having a "love communication" with the phone company, every hour on the hour.  They would tell us it was fixed, we would listen for the dial tone and it would be there, and then 10 minutes later either wanted to use the phone or the computer and the phone was dead again.  Well, it turned out that the problem was not on our own pole but down on the main road and quite aways from our little place.  I'm hoping that we don't go through this with Ike if it hits our area.  At one time the phone company told us it was an inside problem, and we told them we tested a phone on an outside connection and it worked, and besides, how could seven phones all break down at once?

Well, got a call from youngest son last night, and his pool has developed a leak somewhere and he's going crazy trying to figure the problem out.  Also, while he was in India Joy tried to call him and somehow it affected the computer and now he has a virus and he keeps a lot on it and he's so darn busy that I don't think things are backed up like they should be.  I feel so bad for him, he sounded so depressed, and now Joy has a part time job at the junior college near them so I told Stephen that she could pay for the swim pool problem and the computer as he just bought her a brand new car.  Youngest DGD is going to a private school, and he said she was having trouble making friends--she is personality plus but I guess sometimes it's difficult for the younger ones to make friends--she has classes as small as only 4 in a class up to about 12 in other classes--and she had some tests and 4 straight 4.0's out of the ones she took.  She is the one that is very talented in the craft area and as of right now thought interior decoration would be a good career, but she will probably change her mind a dozen times in the next 4 years.

Our DGS is enjoying college so far, he started on Aug. 25th and not allowed a car the first and maybe the 2nd year.  Hoping to get to visit him at college on one of our trips to NY.

Our oldest DGD is going to community college to get the courses that she missed the first 4 years when she wanted to be a physical therapist and the last year changed to physician's assistant, so now just finished socialogy, and is taking biology and organic chemistry.  She is 22 now and is finding it difficult to be living at home again after being away for 4 years.  She loved her trip to see us and I invited her back again and it sounded like she was going to hop right through the phone to get here.  Boy, would I love that!!!

Hopefully tonight I will talk to our oldest son and find out what is going on with them, although we saw them about 3 weeks ago and had a great time with them and Joanie's brother and family at the lake.  Tubing, boating, swimming, stuffing our faces with all kinds of good foods, junk foods, etc.  And they left all the food leftover with us and believe it or not we finally just finished it off, of course, I had to put a lot into the freezer until we could get to it.

That's it for now, hope all are well, extra prayers for our dear Rosemary, also for Martha and her upcoming catscan, and for Becky with upcoming foot procedure--and anybody else that needs a few--yes Lottie, including you and DH and Eldersis--everybody take care and have a good day.  Hugs.

Good morning Bea, for some reason I forgot that you would get the rain. Sounds like all the kids are doing what they want, they always seem to beable to make new friends.

We need rain and probably won't be getting any, any time soon. Verns friend up in Magalia which is butte county gets as much as 10" in a week.

Keep the faith and stay dry, have a great day. Prayers to Rosemary she really needs them now.
