I just found out Ike passed us by!

I just asked DH about Ike, and he said we didn't get it, and it has now dissapated and gone.  WAHOO, hope it didn't cause any more damage after hitting Texas, I haven't really been up on the news too much lately.

Monday was a day of days and lots of running around and had a dental appointment and it was just for my annual cleaning and all else was well, so don't have to go in for another year--appointment already made.  They are amazed at the condition of my teeth, but not going to say anymore about that as I don't want to put a whammy on myself.  They have mentioned a number of times though that they can see that I do a good job cleaning them--yeah, my stepgrandmother put the wrath of GOD in me when she had to have a root canal many years ago and she suffered so much with the pain--------I vowed then and there to take care of these teeth the best I could.

I am sitting here in a bathing suit and the sun is shining and the lake is calm, and a few ducks have already passed us by.  Haven't seen the blue heron lately, guess he's staying with his own family and maybe they are about ready to leave the nest soon anyway.

DH just put on a CD and it's playing "Rock around the Clock"--OMG, I just have to dance----------join me!

Tuesday we had to go back to the city to vote, and then did food shopping at two different markets after that.  I asked DH to pass my Uncle's house to see if it was up for sale.  I had the biggest shock of my life.  I wrote about him when he passed and how rotten his son was about treating the whole family to a lousy cup of coffee afterwards, which he didn't and told the undertaker to tell everybody to get in their cars and go home.  I hope I never see him again, bad of me to say but that's how I feel.

Anyway, the house was in such disrepair, I got out and walked around and took pictures.  One side of the house was so overgrown with weeds and shrubs that I couldn't even get into the back yard.  The swimming pool was all green on top of the sunken in cover, the shrubbery over the whole yard was so overgrown, and he had a two story henhouse which I couldn't see because things were so thick back there.  I took pictures, and even right now I have goosebumps and tears about all this--sure, son was going to take care of dad and he did a lousy job at that.  Nothing has been done with the house except the car is now gone (son took it day after the funeral, of that I'm pretty sure), and I know that my uncle had a hard time keeping the house neat as far as shrubs and bushes, etc., but son being in the landscaping business (big HAHA on that one) doesn't even get his butt up there to just cut the grass.  All other siblings are in FL so wondering if they put a hold on it with the lawyer so that son couldn't take over.  I'm sure he's cleaned the place out with what he wanted, we know he has keys.  What surprised me the most was that there were still curtains in the windows and I could tell the master bedroom because the screens were partway up and yet the windows were closed.  Such a shame.  For a son to dishonor his father like that.  I'm sorry girls--when I got back to the car I sat there stunned and then just let it all out--my uncle was such a hard worker in his day and age and illness just overtook all.

Well, this isn't a cheery note by any means, but there are better days coming.  I have to call 3 different people and make plans to visit with them as they didn't want to take the ride to our place, so we have to make plans to see them before they snowbird back to FL.  DH has been still downloading (scanning) all the albums and has only about 3 more to go.  We both have them backed up, I don't know how he plans to finish them off, just on CD's or DVD's, I have them all on a 4G stick, as he does also, and just started the 2nd 4G--those sticks sure hold a lot--that's 52 years almost as the last few years since digital cameras we already had them on CD's.  This was good therapy for DH while the toe was healing, but now he is mentioning that it's time to think about taking the dock out.  I'm just sitting here wondering what will happen next?

A good day to all, hugs.
