does everyone have a favorite cup they like to drink their coffee tea or cocoa out of. well i know you do,i do too. this morning, though, the handle came rite off of mine, and i was sorely dismayed having to throw my favorite cup into the recycling bin,and so started a day where i went from store to store looking for that rite cup. each cup i picked up,was either too small or too square or even too deep.one was for caffe latte, one for cappuchino, one for expresso, one especially made for tea, with an infuser too.who knew there were so many cups for different beverages! not i!! well i finally found one,i have fiestaware, and the manufacturer, makes this very large cup in many colors. i picked out an aqua blue cup, brought it home, washed it out and prepared myself a giant cup of apple chamomille tea.i couldnt wait to take it on the front porch and sit and sip. i poured the water and covered the tea to let it steep. when i picked up the cup i found it was so heavy that my arthritic fingers on my rite hand couldnt manage to hold it,so down it went.the tea splashed all over the place but the cup didnt break. that fiestaware is like iron!! so im back to the smaller fiesta cups, one that i can manage to hang on to..so goes the old adage bigger is not better..LOLLOL...im putting a plant in the bigger one...LOL..hugs mindy

Don't laugh - my favorites are 4 identical mugs with the Campbell Tomato soup label on them. I think I got them with some promo when DSs were small. They loved to drink soup, thought it so much cooler than sloppy spoons.

Reminds me of my trip to TJ Maxx outlet last week. I wandered into the housewares section and saw some lovely bright cookware pieces by Rachel Ray. Remembering that I have a recipe for a hearty bread which must be baked in a large covered dutch oven, I started to grab one of the 8 qt size. I got it off the shelf about 1" and almost dropped it on my foot. It was cast iron covered with porcelain. How do people cook with those huge cast iron fry pans? Do they just wipe out the grease and move it around the stove when they need to use a burner? Guess I'm a wimp.

I don't care for the over large cups because by the time I get to the bottom, the coffee is cold.

we are truly creatures of habit, arent we betty. we seek,we find what is appealing to our eyes and think that the beverage will taste better or maybe even comfort us.thats it..its the comfort factor in the cup, thinking about the person that gave it to us or seeing what the cup represents, things we enjoy!! your cups sound deliteful.i did use the cup this morning filling it one half full, which reminds me of that saying,is your cup half full or half empty. hugs min

im in total agreement with you kaci. i find that with the bigger cups it take double the time to cool off and enjoy the beverage and by the time it cools off,its cold!! looks like its going to be a bit cooler here today...hows the colors out there by you...things are just starting to turn here..hugs min

jacquie,i use to have all those big cast iron pans..the black ones,i loved cooking in them, but i gave them away,i just couldnt handle them anymore, they were too heavey. now i do still have my mothers le creuset dutch oven that is 50 years old,its younger then me.LOL..and it is heavy but i can still handle. for one thing it is the best in cooking on the stove and baking in the oven..keeps the flavors in and cooks whatever your making very tender! its one of the last ones to be made in france, before they started making them in china..i saw those pans you speak of,and personally i m afraid to purchase one just for the reason that its made in china...who the heck knows what they put into the iron.if their adding all that melamine too foods!! ack!!
