does everyone have a favorite cup they like to drink their coffee tea or cocoa out of. well i know you do,i do too. this morning, though, the handle came rite off of mine, and i was sorely dismayed having to throw my favorite cup into the recycling bin,and so started a day where i went from store to store looking for that rite cup. each cup i picked up,was either too small or too square or even too deep.one was for caffe latte, one for cappuchino, one for expresso, one especially made for tea, with an infuser too.who knew there were so many cups for different beverages! not i!! well i finally found one,i have fiestaware, and the manufacturer, makes this very large cup in many colors. i picked out an aqua blue cup, brought it home, washed it out and prepared myself a giant cup of apple chamomille tea.i couldnt wait to take it on the front porch and sit and sip. i poured the water and covered the tea to let it steep. when i picked up the cup i found it was so heavy that my arthritic fingers on my rite hand couldnt manage to hold it,so down it went.the tea splashed all over the place but the cup didnt break. that fiestaware is like iron!! so im back to the smaller fiesta cups, one that i can manage to hang on to..so goes the old adage bigger is not better..LOLLOL...im putting a plant in the bigger one...LOL..hugs mindy

Speaking of Fiesta ware - I have a collection, most of which was my DGrMs. I lived with her during WWII and we used these every day. When she died, all I wanted was the dishes. We served on these for DGrDs wedding shower earlier in the month. Last week she and I were talking in the car and I mentioned that I didn't want my DILs to get boxes of stuff they didn't want when I die. My plan was to save one big serving piece for each DS and sell off the rest. She said no way! She LOVES those dishes - remembers eating on them at OUR house on Thanksgivings. So I guess she gets most of them - LOL. I guess tastes skip generations sometimes.

Becky, when cleaning out my parent's attic I came across a set of those insulated glasses with the wicker between the 2 sides of the glass.

becky yes i do remember those glasses with the wicker!! they sure dont make glasses like they use to either..did you notice how thin the glass is now..argh..i loved those cast iron pans, when my mom was alive, she would take them into the back yard, lite a candle and chissel off the grit on the bottom of them, its not that they were dirty, its just that they were well used. they do make the best potato pancakes and fish fry too...i miss cooking in them, but as i said, they just got too heavy for me.i hope that special coffee cup of yours lasts until the cow jumps over the moon.LOL..as for me..im still struggling with the one i bought..oh yes and brother bob went out and bought another one..a red fiesta mug after telling me mine was going to take the whole pot to fill...well let me tell you, that cup is bigger then him. hey at least we
