and I did just that, it will teach me to go to a phyisican asst. I do not have shingles I went to a really certifide dr man and he was pissed that she told me I had shingles. I have severe dermatitis and really bad case of the nerves. I bawl all time and he said considering what I have delt with this past 8 months he is proud that I didn't end up in hospital. He gave me some corisone and its helping and I bought some over the counter, HIves pills that are homopathic and they are doing the trick. Almost back to normal and thats a good thing. Enough of that ladies, I hope that your weekend is good and everthing is going as antisipated. Rosemary is one strong lady and I gotta hunch that she will be going home. I did sign up for the messages to come on the caring bridge. Prayers to her and her family.

Vern and I have picked out the solid surface Hi-mac and its just waiting for me to get my cabinets painted and new hardware put on them. Painting keeps my head clear LOL.

I better get off and fix a bite of breakfast and get something done today.

Have a great day and a better tomorrow. hugs

I hear you on problems with diagnosis and treatment. I went to my MD for a regular checkup and told him that my mild fibromyalgia flares have been coming back ever since the the bout with sciatica. He feels I don't have enough serotonin in my brain to make me feel good, so I wind up feeling bad, and recommended an RX for anti-depressant that would increase the serotonin production. Well, I had come armed with info on a supplement that would do the same thing without the side effects. So, he looked it up on his little medical laptop and saw no problems with the few basic meds I already take. I decided to give it a try and skip the anti-depressant - just didn't want to trade one problem for another. Well, after 2 weeks on the pill 3 x a day, it's a small miracle. This must be what a normal person, like DH feels like. I don't feel achy, my appetite has decreased, I sleep through the night with either 1 or no potty stops and wake up early feeling refreshed. I'm just going all the time, where before the pains would just wear me down. I told DSis about it, she had to try it. A week later she calls to tell me she could raise her "bad" leg to get in her undies for the first time in years! I'm sure her arthritis is still there, but the pain message just isn't getting to her brain and making her stop what she is doing. I will go back to MD in a month and can't wait to report. Guess I'll be teaching my old doggie MD something knew - LOL.

Jacquie isn't that great, sometimes you can get an MD like I had before and he don't mind questions about the meds. You found a good one. I take the Acai berry juice I get it from Costco instead on MonaVie its $50 a bottle and Costco is 20 the size of a champagne bottle. Gives you a lot of energy, I also take liquid calcium, liquid chrondroitn and glueclosiamine, chewable senior vitamins, vitamin E,C and now I am going to take D. All in all I feel very good, except for this kinda depression that I have been in since the first of the year, but its getting better and will with time. I keep busy and that helps. I go to the gym and I should go tonight. I am glad that the stuff you got over the counter works, so much of it does. I am using the HIVES by Hylands and its cheap and works very well. Have a great evening and a better tomorrow. hugs

those nurse practioners should not be given a license to tell patients what THEY think they have. one took my sister off her bp meds two months ago and it could have stroked her out. i went to mine, mainly because i couldnt get into my doctor. i had bronchitis, she asked me how my menopause was,i told her i have good days and bad,she wrote me a prescription for prozac.i asked her what was this for. she said oh this is just a little drug that will help you thru menopause,i then asked her how her menopause was and she told me same as mine,i told her to take the prescription and get the prozac herself in essence i told her to stick it where the sun dont shine. glad you found out what you really have betty. hugs mindy

Mindy I just about wet my pants, I would of loved to be a fly on the wall when you asked her how her mennie was. Prozac is mean stuff and frankly I can't remember the last time I heard that was what they used for mennie. I am strickly sticking to the big buck guys, I feel so relieved now and not hardly a bump.

Your whole episode brings to mind when DH had shingles some years back. It hit him on one side of his face, was more pain than itch, so I immediately made an appointment with the MD. The doctor's face lit up when he took the first look. Said it was the first case of shingles he'd ever seen out of textbook years ago. Make you wonder if the PA had ever even seen this in a textbook. As the problem was near his eye, the family MD sent him to an eye MD the same day to be sure there was no permanent damage. DH was left with weakened nerves near the eye, but no vision problems. Just droops when he is tired.

Hi Betty--so happy to hear that you don't have shingles but so sorry to hear you are having a bit of a rough go these days. You have been through a lot and you need time to heal. I hope you know how much you are cared about--you are a shining star here and always cheer me up with your posts--even though i haven't posted much lately I do lurk. So please take care of you and know that things will get better. I send you big giant hugs!!
