One of the better parts of retirement is scheduling a bunch of appointments on the same day and getting them over with. The morning trip was to the dentist for regular checkup. I must return next week for 2 small fillings that should prolong the life of some crowns. Afternoon was the bone density test and dreaded mammo. Their new digital machine made it unnecessary to crank down so hard, no tears this time. From what I could see on the monitor, all looked good. There is no cancer in my family, so MD does this just as a precaution. Last trip was to the grocery store I don't usually go to. They bake a wonderful chewy sourdough roll called Ciabbata and I had to stock the freezer. They are great for Italian beef sandwiches.
Weekend will be a mixed bag. Early trip to the farmer's market to see if they've reduced their prices on sweet green peppers, as we expect light frost next week. Evening is the monthly performance of DGrD (8) acting class - it's in our town, so a nice little trip and back. I hope to begin recovering the cushions on the kitchen chairs - it's the last thing on the kitchen update started in August. Rain should be off & on, so no yard work done. DH wants to roadtrip to a gun show, but I am never thrilled about all that standing around on concrete floors. We'll see...
Jacquie

that reminds me our farmers market held at the lakefront ended last wk. but thankfully we still have one in the city west of us that stays thru november, although, the majority of produce is narrowed down to squash apples cider cabbage potatoes and onions..i usually stock up on the acorn squash. havent made italian beef in a while,do you season your own jacquie..groppis market use to season their own, years ago,and i figured out what seasonsings they used. maybe i will throw one together for the wknd..thanks for the idea...mindy
That digital mammo machine is great, isn't it?
Hey Jacquie, it sure is good to be able to do dr. appt.s all in one day if possible--retirement does come in handy for many things like that.
