Good evening y'all

It all started Thursday; we went over to AL to insulate those d**m water pipes, and put a floor in the 'closet' that we made after taking out the old furnace, that was a trip!  Both of us were so tired from crawling around over the floor etc., that it was all we could do to make it home.  On Friday, both of us sat around like two zombies.  Saturday we began another 'little project', which was putting 16 new hinges on the cabinets under the bookcases in the living room.  Now, that sounds like a simple task, doesn't it?  There were only 5 holes for each hinge, but that's 240 holes!~  New hinges had holes that didn't exactly match where the old hinges were mounted.  We worked on those hinges on Sat., Sun., and today.  Of course, all of the furniture had to be moved around to get it from in front of the cabinets.  There was just no way around it though, when I opened one of the cabinet doors the other day, the little plastic 'hickey' that held the springs in the hinge broke and the springs flew across the room.  The door wouldn't stay closed.

I decided to re-arrange the furniture, because the chair that Eldersis usually sits in is too low for her.  I have one chair that is tall enough for her to use now.  Moving that chair over across the room, and placing one of the chairs that is too low will take its place.  Another little 'project' that we had, was to replace the florescent light bulbs that are in fixtures on the top of the wall between the living room and kitchen.  That meant step ladder work, and we had to move the heavy sofa to get to the fixture.  Now, the whole living room is in flux.

DH is soooo tired and I am too.  I can barely sit here, but wanted to post a little.  Shall we have a little visit to the sink?  Y'all are welcome; you know we have anything that you could possibly want.

Lottie that sounds like something I would get into, it sounds small until you start counting the holes. I want to paint my kitchen cabinets and I just keep thinking I wonder what it would cost to have the 2brothers paint it. Thats a painting outfit here in town.

Vern refuses to move furniture, he thinks it should be there for a life time, but when he is gone I move and move.

I will join you at the sink and have a orange float yummmmmmmmo.

hugs Betty

Oh, my goodness - I'm exhausted reading your words. I have a motto for times like that - "some things you PAY to have someone else do".

BTW - whenever DH & I tackle those kind of complicated projects we refer to it as "Laurel and Hardy does.....(whatever)". LOL.

One thing we will do ourselves is get the old clothes washer moved out of the corner on Tues so I can mop and clean. We've had a few minor floods back there, soaked most of the water up with rags, but I know there will be a mess. DH will need to remove the basement door so delivery man can get down the stairs. Just hoping it will go UP okay.
