weird wild wacky week

man, where do I begin?

how about yesterday? took dd to urgent care..for her back...in pain...started over the summer..she got meds and PT..it was getting better then ins co. said "no more PT"....now we are back to square one..she has to call for an MRI this week and then call a neurologist

we also attended dgd,4, "Got Well Soon Party"..which she organized..to celebrate her recovery from a stomach bug Tues-Wed...I was in charge of the cake!

that bug had us wondering if we would make it to NYC Thurs ,,we had tickets for Radio City's Christmas Spectacular

Wed I even bought ticket insurance!

We didn't know until Thurs at 7 am that we were a "go"..and had a great day: me and Bob, ds and dgd

she loves the city..wanted to go to Toys r us in Times Square to go on the Ferris wheel which we did

she told us she loved the show and thanked us

earlier in the week I was called by a former student to tutor her husband in English for his job..he is from Argentina..they belong to an ultra conservative Christian church...women wear long sleeves/long skirts...they said they could not come into my house because I have been divorced!!! can you believe it??

so we arranged to meet next Mon at McDonalds...his boss called Tues...sort of to interview me..but when he heard McDonalds  he said "that is not going to happen"..we discussed my going there Mon to the place of business....he was supposed to call Wed but never did..so I guess it is off....perhaps he didn't like my fees either!!

it was getting too complicated..any way now I am watching dgd,2, and picking dgd,4, up at school

and Friday I subbed

today I thought I would rest and catch up on crafts...I had some iron ons I made for shirts for the dgds..WELL...I ironed..they didn't stick! aaarrrgghh so frustrating

oh well..just venting..

well..I am supposed to be retired..LOL

today I have dgd,2, picking up dgd,4 later

subbing 2 days this week, teaching a class Wed 4-6 and tutoring T-Th 5-7..does that sound retired??

LOL

dil says it is hit or miss with transfers , either they work or they don't

don't know if I want to try again...will I be stubborn or give up??!!

enjoy the show, here's a link they sent me after the show

I have good luck with canvas bag transfers, but have never tried it on T shirts. I wonder if the stretch fabric is the problem? I have a friend who does the transfer on woven fabric, cuts out the picture, then appliques it to shirts. I'm thinking of working on a memory quilt, now that the Grands are all growing so fast.

Always wanted to go to the Rockettes show. I see that Amtrak offers a package and I may take the train from Chicago to one of the departure points next year.

The transfer worked on a pillow case..not on this cotton knit shirt

but it was special transfer FOR stretchable fabric

oh well..maybe I will try another type

right now: too busy for frustration!!

dgd is over now and telling us how much she loved the show ..makes it all worth it

hope you get to see it

good..glad someone finds my life fascinating!! LOL

Well, I did tutor the guy tonight and it was interesting, he really is very nice...I see this religion stuff as a real impediment to his life...like he couldn't turn on the computer to see some language tools...he could only use it for business..but he was going to call his priest to get the ok...the priest is Irish

I said Tell him I am Irish too!

also the house the boss has is AWESOME..a huge log cabin..these are people with $$$

yep, dgd #1 is a riot...the other one too.."her own brand of genius" as dd says

BTW..went with dd today for MRI..she has appt with neurologist Dec 12...the day I go to FL !!

thanks for asking
