Hi everybody, and I'm sorry I haven't been here. In short, we came home yesterday, after 3 days of bringing a full carful home each day, and still have to go back for a lot of the food. And DH has bought a new computer and decided with the problems we both have been having that he finally applied for DSL here at home and Fios at the lake, because both places don't carry the same service. That means changing every time we move from one place to the other. Anyway, he got a new computer also because his crashed at the lake, he came home and brought an old one down, and of course unhappy with it and the slow dial up didn't help much, so he ordered a new one which is still sitting here in unopened boxes so hope he will be happy with it when he finally opens it. I probably won't be on for awhile, as usual, so thought I better explain some of this. I only had time to read a few posts and I responded below, so everybody, have a nice day, and hugs to all. By the way Darby, we have so far found deep deep corruption in our own state house in Boston and have practically dragged them out of office--two of them in cahoots so far, and the second one is denying it all--these people, once they get in office they feel they can get away with anything. The female was caught putting the $1,000 bribe under her sweater and "conned" by an FBI agent, and pictures of her doing this for proof and she still tried to deny it--oh boy, so much talk about her money under the bra and all on tape!
Anyway, I hope to be back here soon, have a good day, hugs.
Cal, hope your shopping trip went well and DH didn't drag along too much. My DH finds buys in there that he likes so we separate at the front door each with our own carriage and just buy what we want and then go through the register. It works for us.
Jacquie, I am sorry to hear about the young folks already in debt and practically begging for $$$. I think it best to not give any at all and they have to learn to stand on their own two feet. DGD has to accept the grown up responsibilities and part of that is the finances that have to be kept in order. Like Mindy says, it's an old story repeating itself, and other MIL should pull back on the reins and not get conned into "donating" as she certain won't get any of it back if they are calling it a loan. I agree with you on this, it may be a vent in one way, but so true for so many people. Hope it straightens out.
Betty, Boy, that kitchen is going to be beautiful and you will just love being in the kitchen. I don't blame you for not getting the large micro for over the stove, I notice when I boil water on the stove the micro is catching the brunt of the steam and I try to be careful about the venting. We also have a small counter one at the lake and I end up using that more often, and it is a newer and smaller version and heats up faster too. At home we have only the over the stove micro, but in essence we don't need 2 microwaves here but if it should happen I still have one in the cellar. We just came home from the lake yesterday and what a mess we are in.
Mindy, Oh yes, I surely remember my grandfather putting out the coal klinkers, and it was just as safe as any of the newfangled stuff that is not "green". Well, I am going to have to get off line as DH is changing us over to DSL here at home and he wants to work on my computer, so if I'm not here for awhile, that's the reason. He stayed up all last night working on his, hasen't even had a chance to look at his new computer yet. Aaaaaaaaaaarrrgh, I think we/he is in for a long and frustrating project. I can't believe that everybody has gone through this, or can people be hired?
Well, here's a funny one--yesterday was 8 weeks and DH handed the kitchen back to me. With the final move to the house----duh-----I forgot to get supper!

Hi, Bea, good to see you here!
