and we are back home already. We had plans to visit with friends of ours this afternoon, and instead and because of the incoming snow storm that they have been promising us, and which by the way had arrived also, we got together this morning instead. The man of the other couple had triple bypass surgery the same day that I had the hysterectomy, and we were both in the same hospital in Boston the same days. His wife came over to visit me, and DH went over to visit him--a nice arrangement and couldn't have planned it any better. The other husband and I just hugged and hugged and hugged to think that we both got through it alright and no after effects that we know of. It really put a whole new meaning on life for the both of us. All four of us just made a circle at the end and just hugged and kissed and embraced--we all realize just how precious life is and how much we really appreciate what we have.
They are going to Florida right after Christmas so we won't see them until they get back sometime in March. We invited them over for a homemade pizza!!! This girl, Dottie, is one of my Crazy 8 girlfriends and we have known each other since we were babies. Yes, we go back a long way, know each other so well, and our husbands get along fabulously. We all are talkers and it was just non-stop all morning. And, if you have remembered at all my mentioning get-gethers of 3 couples on our Cape Cod Canal, which I do the planning for, they are one of the couples.
They had up a Christmas tree, and a few decorations. So pretty to sit and enjoy as you know I have already mentioned that I am not decorating at all this year. It is so nice to have friends that are so nice.
Which brings me to this board, and all the lovely gals that are here, and how much fun I've had writing and posting, etc. It almost seems like a sisterhood, getting to know everybody and actually worrying with them when things go wrong. I just hope that everybody has a wonderful Christmas/New Year's/Holiday season. I think the best wish that I can pass on to all of you is to wish you all a very good and healthy year for 2009. I know I'm a bit early, but that's what I am thinking of right now, and I just want everybody to be able to do what they want to do and enjoy.
Have a good day, hugs to all.
