Once again I am back from MIA. This time it being out of town. I had the best weekend. Left home Friday morning and got to Amy's by lunch time. I went with Amy when she picked up Kyle at school and he was as always delighted to see me. Wonder how much longer he will greet me at school with a big hug and kiss? LOL.. He is 9 now. I will take it while I can get it though.

Friday night we went to a a county park in Charleston that has the most magnificent lights that you you will ever see. I go almost every Christmas with them. We picked  DD Susan up and she lives only 2 miles from the park. It was amazing again this year. Each year they have a few new displays.

Saturday we started baking our cookies and wow, how tiring is that. We didn't get done until almost 5 PM. Amy and Ron ordered pizza and later we watched Alf. I love that movie. I came home Sunday afternoon late.

Today was not so fun. I had to clean house and finish wrapping  a few last minute presents. It was 25* this morning and a high of only 44* right now. Brrrrrrr for us, but I know not as cold as some of you all. I have been seeing all the bad weather.

Have a good rest of the day and put on your best holiday  SMILE!

Thanks for checking in - always worry when I don't see someone posting for a while. You sure were busy. I've discovered how hard cookie baking is on my old back now. Tonight I'm making the Ritz thin mint cookies - no mixing, no baking, so I can do that sitting down. I ran my last errands today, had to pick up the 4 bed pillows now that I finally sewed the fleece pillowcases for the little ones, crisp bills from the bank for the teens. Got cookbooks for the young brides in the family, the basic kind with lots of pictures, holiday platters on 1/2 price to fill with cookies as gifts. I cover these with the red stretch wrap and they look very festive. When 8 yr old DGrD was packing up her cookies take home last week she worked very hard arranging them so nicely - said she wanted them to look like the ones in the bakery - LOL. I need to work as hard on my display.

We're expecting snow/sleet/freezing rain for the next 2 days, so I'm staying in. Thank goodness DH is a good grocery shopper and will make an early run to the store on Tues.
