Got together with kids , their spouses and dgd on Jan.1st. It was actually kind of nice to extend the Holiday. Now I have to take down all the decorations. We have the large real tree and 4 little artificial ones. I have 2 nativity sets and umpteen Santas.  Eventually it will get done. It seems like I just put everything up.

We got to keep dgd for 4 days. What a joy! Shes has such an imagination. She fell in love with the movie "Misty" and we played horses for hours afterward. (Not to mention shark, astronaut, teacher, and alligator) She also "wrote" 3 books and we made gingerbread men. It's pretty quiet around here now. I never remember having this much fun with my own kids - I guess I was too tired back then or probbaly just don't remember. Grandparenthood is a marvelous thing.

We went out New Year's Eve to a Japanse hibachi restaurant with 2 other couples from the neighborhood and then had dessert at our house. I made a flourless chocolate cake. Anyone ever have one? It's sinfully rich but with no flour it's low carb!!! I put whipped cream and fresh raspberries on top. We were glad our friends also liked to get to  bed early even on New Year's Eve. We barely made it up to see the ball drop in NYC.

Now it's back to reality and dieting and exercise.

I wish you all health and good times in 2009!!!

Hugs,
