with bay leaf, peppercorns, onion &  tiny dash of garlic to make a broth that I'll use for a soup, which is yet to be decided.  DSs will "make" me walk, so I'll be out & can go to the grocery for the rest of the ingredients.  Bean sounds good, but so does potato...yum!

Tomorrow will be my day to get some of the holiday decorations put away.  It looks so festive that I'll miss them.  I should decorate earlier so I could enjoy them longer.

Hope you're all having a pleasant day.  I'm off to the shower...yes, I'm not dressed yet...what a bum!  LOL!   Cal

We had pinto beans with our ham bone, plus corn muffins on the side.

I hear you on the house looking dull. Someone on another board mentioned sitting out the battery powered flickering candles to make things cozy. I have some we never used for DGrDs wedding reception, but can't remember where I stashed them. Another very senior moment.

Today's weather brought freezing mist which turned into black ice. My car brakes were chattering as I tried to slow for a turn. Did my tutoring gig, stopped the library for yoga videos and am home to stay. DH has his annual post-stents visit with the heart MD, but I'm staying home. Truth be told, I'm going to savor the hour being alone in the house. The TV is really getting on my nerves. I think I need a "non-menstrual" hut in the back hard to escape - LOL.
