Good evening y'all

We made it through the holidays without getting sick; then Eldersis brought her friend over for a 'pop' call.  The friend was recovering from a cold or flu or something, and she joyfully shared it with us.  Poor DH got it first, because the girl just had to hug him goodbye.  He got sick first, and has been very sick; I had managed to ward off the 'crud' until last night, then I began to get sick.  Both of us feel miserable.

I just had to go out today, even though it probably would have been better if I had not, to get Rxs at the Kroger.  At least, everything was in one place, because we needed a few grocery items too.

The wind has been blowing something fierce, and it has poured rain; technically, it ends the drought for some counties, but not us.  A lot of places near the rivers have flooded...it's either feast or famine!

I  promise not to share the 'crud' with y'all, if you meet me at the sink.  A little toddy seems to cut through some of the 'nasties'.

Hi Lottie--I will join you for a toddy. My DH and I have had colds since our trip back east for Christmas. I finally went to the dr. on Monday and am taking antibiotics for the sinus infection and lots of prescription cough medicine. I am finally feeling better but also feel wiped out. I think we actually caught the colds here before we left because lots of people have it--starts with a sore throat and has a terrible cough with it. So a little rum or brandy would taste pretty good. Hope you and DH feel better soon.
Hugs,
Carol

I think it's going to be a little hot buttered spiced rum this evening!

Our grocery store has the wipes too, and I always use them.

If you're "obsessive", I am, too, Lottie, because I carry the hand sanitizer!

I always wipe down the grocery carts at the stores which supply cleaner. Plus, I've taken to wearing light weight stretch gloves in the stores. I figure people can spread plenty of germs on the jars/cans/boxes. No one notices in this cold weather, but I'll need to come up with something else in the Spring - LOL. Our problem is that we live in a university town. Whenever the students return from all over the world, there are outbreaks of strange illnesses. They aren't due back for till later in the month, so the clinics are enjoying the lull.

My DGrMs solution for any illness was Hot Toddy, light on the tea, heavy on the whiskey and honey. I remember sinking into a blissful sleep... I still prefer hard spirits to wine or beer.

I am so sorry that you caught the "crud" from an innocent hug, and that's just about how it goes around too.
