Bea, in the flesh and blood!

I'm finally back, and it's so nice to have a computer with online service that is working---------ssssshh---------at least for now.  We started out with DSL and it was so terrible that we got rid of it, the man on the other end of the phone (the "many" men and women I should say) promised us the world and gave us the $hit!  Sorry, but that's how I feel.  They couldn't believe that we were canceling before the first month was up, but DH read (nobody told us) that if we have it a month we have to pay all fees.  Well, we got rid of that quick, and they are supposed to send us a box to put the modum in and return.  So far, they haven't.  He checked our bill throughy calling the phone company and they said we had zero charges, so hopefully she is right.

So, he found Comcast on line and called, and they set us up with an appointment, not realizing that he was dealing not direct with Comcast but with an in-between company.  Anyway, Comcast personal showed up when they said, DH had brought the cable up from the cellar through the walls to the second floor himself and all the Comcast guy had to do was help him connect it and program in the modum from them.  Now, we thought it funny that he brought the modum because we were under the impression that the modum would be mailed to us at a certain cost.  This turned out all to be true as the mailed modum came this morning from the company that sold us the bill of goods and set up the installation, so DH has decided to pay for it and keep it in hopes that we can use it at the lake.  Then the men had to work outside and bring the cable line from the pole to the house--four of them--three of them standing around gabbing and they send the newest guy up the pole and he was shaking so bad but he got the job done.  Need I mention that it was during a storm also.  Anyway, the original installer and the only one that came in the house, finally came in again and we had to sign that the job was done and I think it only cost about $55 for the installation (inside the house), and outside is their expense, and we are renting the modum for $3.00 a month which we didn't realize until he told us, but that didn't bother us.  He then explained that the newest man always goes up the pole as he's in training and has to learn from the ground up, and he was sure shaking but the three of them were there to help him if he needed them.

Well, I'm back online, and sorry to go on and on about this, but it sure has been an experience.  I guess I should say that DH was at his wits end and I finally made a phone call for him to calm him down about why his account wasn't set up instantaneouly the minute the man left.  He found on computer that no more paper bills would be sent out and that sent him in outer space, so after so much listening to him I finally picked up the phone and called Comcast and told them I want a paper bill and I will send an old fashioned check.  No problem he said.  Then DH calmed down.  I don't pay any bills by computer or calling on phone; all our utilities are sent directly to the bank and taken out that way, but this Comcast I think I will pay myself because we will have to quit with it when we go to the lake and start a new account there and probably every time we go back and forth.

Oh well, on with the day, I'm glad to be back, and hi to everybody and hope everybody is well, and have a good day, hugs.
