Pushing Spring

Dear Ladies:
I just could not stand DH anymore, moping around the house. Constantly complaining about the weather or lack of weather. I mean what does he want, it was just flooding last Thursday.
So I took him shopping. Man shopping. In his case, we visited Home Depot first and got two new rakes. Then a quick lunch (Sammie's at Quizno) and on to the nursery. We brought seeds for the garden and plant dirt, so I found him in the green house getting ready to plant his sweet peas in the starter boxes. He told me that he was not really going to plant them until President's day, but he wanted to get everything ready. I also got him a nice little Myrtle tree. Last I looked tonight, he was giving it a trim with a small pair of scissors. Just talking away to the plant and having a grand old time.
If he runs out of anything to do, I brought enough dirt to re-plant all of the indoor plants. He really needs to keep busy the TV is not a good place for him right now.

Good idea to get things in order for spring!
Smart lady & how fortunate you are that he has an interest!
HI Lou,
You're so lucky to have a greenhouse. I'm glad you found things for dh to do. Luckily my dh has lots of hobbies and interests so we've adjusted well to his retirement. We both keep very busy.
You sure have had the miserable weather out there. I hope things improve (for all of us).
Hugs,
My DH is fairly busy in the basement with business and hobbies, but I'm getting cabin fever. I can always get outside in the summer, but Winter is a different story. I need a cabin on the beach for a month right now! Unfortunately nothing I can afford. I have TV on during the AM news shows, but would be happy with just music after that. But, DH loves his documentary WWII movies at full blast for his breakfast at 10, lunch at 12, snack at 3. Drives me nuts - the narrators drone on & on.
I'm picked up a book on small scale city gardening and trying to figure out how to build a cover over my raised bed so I can start veggies early. I sow sugar snap peas and mixed salad greens in early March, but it seems a long way off. I am having withdrawal from all the summer greens, so am going to shop for a big seed sprouter. Anyone grow sprouts?

Sorry to be so late in responding to all of your postings.
Lou your a good wife, at least your dh will work in the yard, mine hates it and hired an idiot to do the lawns.
I told Vern that just for fun I think I will fire Robert and see if he knows he was fired, complete idiot LOL.
Crepe myrtle I love them, I had one until it froze and never put one back.
Betty L. Keep and Angel on your Shoulder & a prayer in your heart.
Betty:
I do understand about having someone make a mess out of your yard.
