Deep freeze - again

I'm just so tired of being cold. All I want to do is hibernate under a throw on the sofa, and eat any kind of carb I can get my hands on. I've gotten hooked on whole wheat raisin bran with milk heated in the microwave. Real comfort food. Temps are going to sub-zero next few nights, not much warmer during the day. Wind warning is out, so chill will be -10 or lower. Our house is just drafty enough that the furnace can't keep up. If this keeps up, the local lake will freeze over and the kids can play on it - that doesn't happen most years. My niece wants is off work next weekend and wants me to come visit. If there is no snow predicted, I may just go. I've been wanting to see the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Library exhibit, plus there is a new Goodwill "super" store complete with coffee bar that I'd like to see. She has a whirlpool tub that would feel so good... Just need to get her to invite me to stay over - LOL. If not, I'd gladly take a hotel with a pool and hot tub.

Off to watch Without a Trace. I'll probably fall asleep, but that's nothing new.

Yup, it's cold here too - bitter cold. Right now it's -4º and that will go down later. Even during the day tomorrow it's not suppose to warm up. We're suppose to be getting some snow tonight and then the wind will pick up. I'm planning to hibernate for a few days.

We heard from ds this afternoon. He arrived in Sao Paulo, Brazil about 5:30 p.m. (their time) and the temperature was around 90º. His hotel has virtually no AC and it's very uncomfortable. When he arrives back in Chicago on Friday he's in for a huge shock to his system.

DH has cleared the way for me to go to the yoga class at noon. I felt so good after taking it last week that I don't want to miss is.

I'm reading "The Ten Thousand", by Harold Coyle. It is about a fictitious modern day raid into the Ukraine to confiscate nuclear weapons. Probably sounds like an odd choice, but I like military movies, etc. Back in the 60s I took an aptitude test at a women's studies class. Because the ones for women were clearly biased (nurse/teacher/secretary), we were given the men's test. My top 3 were - surgeon, military commander, truck driver. Who knew?? Well, DH claims I have personality traits of all 3, so was not surprised - LOL. I save the light reading for sitting on the deck in warm weather. I'm easily distracted when I'm outside and can't get through anything heavy. I save the heavy duty books for snuggling up in the winter.
