As I mentioned in my post to Jacquie...I have Book Club this afternoon. We were to read any book by Terry Pratchett (science fiction not a favorite of mine). The only one I could find still available in the library is a 245 page book geared toward pre-teens "Johnny & the Bomb". Actually, it's pretty good & very imaginatively clever...so the purpose of the club has been met...to expose oneself to new experiences in reading.
I don't like the first few American Idol shows with so many of the untalented auditioning, but am afraid I'll miss something if I don't watch. The local girl who auditioned hasn't been on yet.
I'm trying to think of a low-cal comfort food type snack to take to book club. Any suggestions? I suppose chocolate chip cookies don't meet the requirements...LOL!
Happy day wishes to all! Cal

Well you could always make the cookies with 1/2 the chips and whole wheat flour, then pass them off as healthy - LOL. I buy the mini chips now and find that less can satisfy my chocolate craving pretty well. Latest healthier dessert is a toasted whole grain mini-waffle, topped with frozen berries, then mini chips. Heat in microwave just long enough to melt the chips. The chips supply just enough sweetening for me, made it with raspberries last time and it was delish.
Off to make a pot of chicken soup. I add frozen squash to the broth to make it thick and add nutrition. Will also use up the wilted mushrooms and celery, plus some leftover cooked whole grain pasta. As I love curry flavoring, I'll add some to perk up the taste.
