Not much planned for today, because the weather is bad & so cold that nothing (salt) will melt to clear the streets of ice.  I missed walking twice this week & had planned on going to the mall to do a couple of miles.  Maybe later today.

Seriously back on my healthy eating plan...never say diet?  I have to lose 20 lbs. to reach one of my goals.  You'll notice I said "one of my goals" since I have more to go after that.  (I'm sure I've told you that when I quit smoking many years ago, I substituted food for cigarettes.  Bad move...I've been struggling with my weight ever since!)

Hope you're all having a peaceful Saturday.  I'm off to see what mine will become:-)   Hugs, Cal

Some days never turn out the way I plan. My intention was to do my treadmill walking at 10 AM, shower for the day, have lunch, start loading weekly laundry, then begin chair upholster project. Didn't happen that way - DSis called at 9:30 and we were on for over an hour. By the time I got to the chair project it was mid afternoon. I did whip up a peach cobbler with frozen pie filling from DSs tree. I've found a whole wheat quick biscuit mix made by Hogsdon Mills and used their drop biscuit recipe. Looks very good, but I know I'm gonna wish I had vanilla ice cream to go on top. The extreme change (aka heat wave and wind) in the weather gave me a sinus headache, so another hour was wasted getting rid of it. So now the 2nd load of laundry is running, I have an oven full of burnt on pie filling (forgot to put a cookie sheet under it, and need to start thinking about supper. I want to get the chairs dismantle so I have an excuse to go out to breakfast on Sunday - LOL.

Would you believe I found the mix at WalMart? Ours carries more of their line than the other stores. This is an all purpose mix akin to Bisquick. There is a lot of fiber in it, so biscuits are crunchy - not exactly what a true Southerner would like, but I'm a Yankee.

I was too lazy to go out for ice cream, but did pour some evaporated milk over it to make it really mushy. Something about peaches & cream appeals to me. DH eats it plain.

I started taking out the staples with the special staple remover I bought on eBay from an upholstery shop. That is really hard on these old hands. I'm thinking maybe reupholstering folks don't remove the staples to get the old fabric off - it would cost customer an arm & a leg. Bet they just rip it off, so I'm going to try cutting it away with a craft knife.

DH did remind me that I really don't need an excuse to go out to Steak & Shake. He loves the unhealthful pancakes and real syrup they serve - LOL. I like the Denver omelets, just have them hold the heavy cheese sauce on top. No reason I couldn't make omelets, except that I'm too lazy to do all that chopping. I have been known to drain a can of diced tomatoes & green chiles to throw in an omelet.

Doesn't it seem like all good plans go astray?
