...recovering from yesterday's whirlwind of activities?  I did enjoy the inauguration.  How about you?

Remember that kitchen floor desperately in need of scrubbing?  It's what I will do today before 3 p.m.; I promise.  Meat balls with cream of celery soup & Lipton onion soup mix, mashed potatoes & a vegetable will be an easy dinner.

I hope tonight's American Idol isn't as foolish as it has been since it started.  I wouldn't be watching this part of it if it wasn't for the local girl who tried out in Puerto Rico.  Then to think that she may not even be shown...arrrgh.  Of course, she couldn't tell us anything about it.

I'm off to the kitchen!  Happy day!   Cal

It's Thursday evening here. The yoga class on Weds wore me out so much I came home, ate lunch, and promptly fell asleep. This meant I missed my appt. for shingles vaccination. But, they got me in today. This morning was busy with Project Read tutoring. It sure was nice not to be driving in ice or snow, but my windshield did have some soft frost stuck to it. DH and I ran errands after lunch. One was to the county assessor's office to see what we needed to file to get the senior tax breaks. It makes no sense to me that DH must sign a paper each year stating that he is over 65! What do they think? That he will get younger each year??? We did get good news that our property tax will revert back to the lowest level it's been since we were eligible. We paid higher taxes on 06 and 07 due to some investments we cashed in raising our income level. This raised the the property tax for those 2 years. This form must be filed annually along with tax filing figures.

Next stop was Farm & Fleet store to get 40 lbs of cat food. DHs favorite coffee maker was on clearance, so we bought it. This means we now have 2 brand new makers in the basement. It's better than finding out the old one doesn't work at 10 PM (always seems to break down at the worst time). Now me - I'd just use it as an excuse to go out for a cup of coffee in the morning. I picked up yet another cookbook - 5 ingredient recipes. It doesn't give nutrient info, but I will user lower fat & lower sodium fixins.

Tonight is 2 new episodes of "Bones", plus one of "ER", so I'll spend some of the time on the treadmill and do some strength training. Can't sit for that long

I haven't been around for a couple of days. I worked Tuesday & Wednesday and had a lot of housework to do today. The weather finally was a bit warmer here today. So, this afternoon I dug out my snowshoes and took a walk in the back yard. It's the first time I've been able to use them. Previously I had trouble when I tried, but today I did just fine. It was very nice being out on a sunny, semi-warm day. Tonight I went over by my dds and spent the evening with them.
