The DSis I found a few years back was traveling through our area and stopped for a visit. DBIL comes by here regularly, as his family is in IN. They usually spend Winter in AL, but decided to give it a try in their home in No. MI. He's finally had it with moving snow, so they are on their way South until April. She has MS that is under control, but developed some other health problems which caused her to lose a lot of weight last year. Her appetite is back and we went out for a lovely lunch before they hit the road. I just can't get enough of looking at her - she is a twin to our DF and it's like going back 50 years and seeing him.
DH did not join us for lunch. His trip 150 miles No. to help take down and move a friends model RR turned into a nightmare. They didn't stop for breakfast on the road because the goal was to be back by supper. Once there, they discovered the that the guy had not done any preliminary work, it was all tear down and haul to truck. No lunch break, at least DH had the sense to take 4 little packs of snack crackers, which he shared with the other 2 men at 4 PM. Only drink he had was water from 1 plastic cup he found in the house. Argh - what is it with stubborn men. I had suggested he take an emergency cooler with snacks & pop in case they got stuck in bad weather, but of course he ignored me. Supper was drive thru burgers at 8 PM, and he staggered into the house at midnight. At almost 70, he was exhausted. The truck was still fully loaded and he was back helping unload it at 8:30 today. DSis and DBIL were already here when DH returned. All he wanted was a shower, lunch on the sofa and a nap with a cat. Poor guy, the friend really took advantage of him. He'll be dragging for a few days.
