Good Morning,
Today I don't have to go anywhere. Yeaaaaaa..I can get some more work done, not that I consider that fun by any means.
I was very busy taking mother to appointments and grocery shopping. We ended up at the Chinese Buffet again for lunch yesterday. Whew my diet was shot all to HECK. I did eat a very light healthy snack for dinner though (cereal)...LOL
Managed to get my indoor walking exercises in before I ate. I am doing real good at doing that daily.
I don't think I have mentioned this DVD a friend recommended to me for exercising with my bad foot. I think you all would like this one too . The walking is in place with a few added on kicks, side steps and leg lifts.
The name of the DVD is The Walk Diet. Here is a picture of the cover if any one is interested. I got it at our Walmart for $15.00. It is very easy on the body and I am really enjoying it. Check for it at your library, if you just want to try it.

Good Morning Becky. I also have no commitments on my schedule today, although I do plan to go to town to the bank and the grocery store sometime. We're suppose to have a nice warm day today and also nice through the weekend. I hope to spend some time outside too.
I also have been working at trying to do some walking. Since I've had the treadmill I've walked almost every day. I've also been watching my food intake and I'm beginning to see some results on the scale. That DVD looks interesting. I might have to check it out.
Sounds good Becky, and a lot better than getting out when it's cold out.
Yes Bea, it is very cold here for us. It was 23* this morning at 7am and it is now 12:19pm and we have risen all the way up to 30*. If the sun wasn't shining brightly it would not even be that warm (if you can call 30* warm)
The DVD is precisely great for this bitter weather most or all of us are having.
I have several of her "walk" series. As you progress, you may want to get the 1 & 2 mile ones that are faster & longer.
My attendance at yoga class has been poor. First the stomach flu bug last week, then my the surprise visit from my DSis yesterday. I don't mind because it's difficult for me to get into position for some poses in the class. One good thing from the class was it got me interested in yoga for breathing and flexibility work. I checked out some DVDs from our library and found the sitting ones were perfect. From there I went online and found a DVD online called "Ageless Yoga - chair & standing routines". Unlike some I looked at, this DVD is done in real-time and performs each pose long enough to get good stretch. It has sure made me realize how tense I am in my shoulders. When I relax them, they shoulders drop by inches!
Jacquie
Jacquie,
I am now walking the 2 mile session. I can sure feel it in my legs and waist. I never thought that just walking in place could do me so much good. I love the fact that I can do it all indoors as it has been a cold winter for this southern gal and you know our summers are hot, hot, hot.
well that DVD sounds like a great idea!
going for a walk today with dd
isn't it nice to have a day w/o commitments? I wonder how I managed to work for 30+ years! LOL
have a great day

Becky...you encouraged me to get out my old Walk DVDs and get back in shape. We receive these on cable TV and DH has recorded them for me. I was surprised at how much better a workout it was than walking on the treadmill. When I was done with that, I did the 18 min. stretching segment of the Ageless Yoga video. Time to end the sloth cycle that began with holiday foods and bitter temps.

Those walking tapes are great. We've been doing them for a few years. Not the same lady you have but it seems as if it's the same routine.Tomorrow I will be back to walking in the pool for about an hour. I do that the days I'm not doing indoor exercises.
