Somehow I just haven't been having the time to do much on here. Getting better. Bea sent me all of your birthday wished-- THANK YOU!!!! It is so nice to be remembered. I'm going to try to be a good member from this day on.

Things are going well for me. I have had a lot to deal with-- yup-- my homecoming once mare had me having to take care of many things. A full roof-- right down to the rafters. A new hot water tank. Four new tires on the car. Then an accident that has me without a car for a month. Sorry to say , MY FAULT! First ticket ever. Lucky I'm not in the hospital. Was struck by a dump truck when entering the hwy. Yes I looked. What happened who knows. Misjudgment on my part for sure.

Anyhow, that has made me think hard about selling my place while in one oiece before I get ill. I really don't want to, but good sense tells me it is time. May be years before it sells. As it is I always said that when I turned 80 I would sell. I'm 79-- so it's a year early. The accident made me realize the mess my kids would have if I had been hurt.not fair to them. I'll rent down here for a few months if need be. I have many offers to stay at my friends homes. Kinda hate to do that, but might if it's a short visit. If one of them lived down here it would be perfect!

Not on here much, but sure wrote a lot. Be on here much more again--  and once more, thanks for all the good wishes, martha

Holey moley - a dump truck? That would scare the stuffing out of me. Amazing that you came out okay. I'm admitting to having more incidents of misjudgment as time goes by. Oddly enough, I'm fine at high speeds on the highway - guess I'm really focused. It's just those little distractions when I'm driving around town.

I've read that the best thing an aging parent can do is move close to their children, but it's got to be very difficult. Having been through the process of traveling every weekend do see a dying DM, I know firsthand how the toll it takes on middle age "kids".

If parents had moved South to get away from the cold winters, moving back would be okay for some if the kids lived where the parents had come from - friends, familiar surroundings. I've known others who bloom wherever they are planted and enjoy totally new places & people. If I had the $$, I'd rent a place for the Winter months, but would hate to miss Spring/Summer/Fall in the Midwest. We've redone our house to make it more aging friendly, the only thing that will be a problem is laundry in the basement. If one of the kids could come here for an afternoon and take care of it, that will be a great help someday.

Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time since you returned to Florida. I didn't even realize that you had returned. It must be very difficult for you to contemplate giving up your Florida home. It's such an important part of your life. My prayers are with you as you decide what to do.

A couple of years ago I was rear-ended by a gravel truck. Thankfully it was entirely his fault. I was stopped with my directional on waiting for traffic to clear so I could make a left turn. He thought he had time to get past a vehicle in the right lane before getting to me and didn't slow down at all. Bam! Needless to say, he got a ticket and his insurance company took care of my repairs. I'm glad we were in town so it was a pretty low speed accident.

Hope we see you more often.
