Hi everyone!
Went from high 70 temps to the teens. Oh well. I'm grateful we were able to leave winter behind for 5 days. Our dgd at 4and a half was the perfect age for WDW. On Sunday she was Princess Aurora for the day complete with makeup, pink hairdo, dress and lunch with all the Disney princesses. DD bought the "do" and grandma Darby couldn't resist buying the dress. Grandpa got so into it that he insisted on paying for the lunch. I think my dd was as thrilled as dgd. It really is a magical place. Of course dgd got all the character autographs and photos, we walked for a least a million miles, saw countless displays, went on magical rides, and we all thoroughgly enjoyed the experience. Dgd was a trooper as we spent much time in lines.
I hear there is concern abour Doreen and the fires. She is in Adelaide and is far from the fires. I have her phone number somewhere and will call her when I find it to see how her health is. Dh hasn't spoken to them for almost a year. Since he's retired he won't be making his twice a year trips to Australia.
I came home with a terrible cold, I was so sick with a cough for 6 weeks before Christmas. I hope this doesn't last as long. I see many are under the weather here. I hope you all feel better fast. Happy belated 70th birthday to Judi!!!
C'mon Spring!!!

Welcome back, Darby!
Welcome back. Looks like you're back just in time for a nice snow storm. I think you're suppose to be getting more down there than I am up here.
Isn't Disney fun? I so enjoyed it last year when we went down. I would guess that it may have been a bit easier for you with only one grand along. We had to schedule our days so that three different ages of kids would be happy.
Hope you're feeling better soon.
Still coughing, my second seige this winter. I get bronchitis easily - have for years. I think I'll get allergy testing. It's the only type doctor I HAVEN'T seen on the problem.
I did get tired from all the walking but it was worth it all.
Hugs,
Thanks Kaci. We only got 4-5 inches and it's bright and sunny today. Warm-up is expected on Wed. I hope this is the last of the snow!!
It must have been hard to make 3 different age groups happy. Although I enjoyed everything we saw, no matter what the age level. We saw one of the first American Idol Shows (new exhibit in Hollywood Studios)where the audience votes for their favorite of 3 contestants. Alot of fun.
Stay warm.
Hugs,
70 degrees!! oh does that sound nice! i swear if i live thru this winter,in which i was pretty sick myself, cold flu whatever,i will never ever complain about summer again....
Hi Darby, I'm sorry to hear that you have a cold, quite common for the change in weather when one travels.
Well, you went to my favorite spot in FL. We used to camp for a week or two at a time in FT Wilderness. It was great. We enjoyed all the parks and of course had our favorite spots. Where did you stay?On the grounds is so nice since one never needs to use the car.
It makes me happy to hear that at least Doreen doesn't have to deal with the fires. That is so frightening.
Again, so happy your stay if FL was great! martha
Martha! Its' so good to see you back!
We stayed at Lake Buena Vista Resort and Spa because they had a 3 bedroom condo so we could cook
