Hi Ladies--I thought it was about time I checked in here. I have been reading posts sporadically but just didn't have too much to say. I think of you often and hope Lottie, Bea, Betty, and Mindy are feeling better. Kaci I hope the weather is being kinder to you and that you won't have to shovel out that driveway again this winter!! Martha, I hope the sale of your place in FL goes smoothly and also hope that you will be able to make lots of visits there in the future.Jacquie I enjoy your posts so much and really enjoyed the depression cooking episode--it reminded me of my DMIL (even though she was Norwegian not Italian) that generation was made of STRONG stuff and they handled difficult times with such grace and humor.
My life is unexciting (that's good!. My biggest event lately was rejoining Weight Watchers. I was having problems with my blood pressure and dr. suggested that I lose a few pounds (she is VERY kind!). WW was very successful for me 8 years ago and I am really enjoying being back in the program.
Well I better get moving--we have to visit the tax guy and then babysit our 2 DGSs for a couple of hours.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will try to post more often in the future.
Hugs to all,
Carol (nana4times)

I'm posting this here because I was not able to create a new discussion! The buttons for "review Message", etc. never appeared on the screen - tried 3 times, even got out of the board. Luckily, I had copied the text. Went to another board and could start a new discussion and buttons were there!!

Still working on rearranging my hobby room. I now have all my fabrics folded and on shelves in cabinets, accessories are in drawers where I can roll over to retrieve. My next project will be purse organizers for the ladies in the family. They are the type that is one long strip with pockets. It can be adjusted to fit the purse - were sold on TV a while back and I found a free pattern online.

Has anyone been watching the CBS show "The Eleventh Hour"? We caught by accident one night and really enjoy it. DH & I like CSI/Bones type mysteries, and this one has a little more scientific approach and not so much gore. We've learned a lot from just watching the guy investigate cases and come up with solutions. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the leading man has dreamy blue/gray eyes....

Good night,
Jacquie

Lottie--that dr. must have been nuts! I too am 5'6" and at 126 lbs. I looked like I needed a good hot meal LOL I was 132 lbs. when I got married and look too thin even by today's "standards!"
I hope your back pain eases up soon. Be kind to yourself.

Hi Cal--I am sending you gentle hugs to help ease your pain. Lying flat with my knees bent upwards with pillows for support and more under my neck have helped me when lower back pain presents itself. Happily, it has been a loooong time since I've had to deal with it.
I hope you have a comfortable weekend with NO surprises :-)

Hi Kaci--you are losing weight the right way--slow and steady wins the race they say! WW says to lose no more than 2 lbs. per week. I have been working at off and on for 17 years. I am trying to keep motivated by thinking of all the clothes stored away that i will now be able to actually wear--if they aren't too out of date LOL
I hope the warm weather comes to visit you to stay soon.
Enjoy that extra hour of sleep this weekend!

Hi Jacquie--you are so clever!! What a great idea to make those purse inserts. I have one with a removable light--the light was the reason i bought it. I wish purse makers would use light-colored interiors. It would make it so much easier to find stuff--of course, then it would get soiled faster and I would complain about that LOL
Enjoy your "new" hobby room and have a great weekend!

Hi Mindy--good to "see" you! I actually take two meds also--but one was prescribed for insomnia but that was why the dr. was not happy when my BP went up even though i was taking a low dose of meds. But--the meds are working and I am trying to behave myself :-)
Have a cozy uneventful evening LOL
Carol
