Here Comes The ICE

We had rain almost all day yesterday - it amounted to about an inch.  This morning it started again.  When I got home from church it was just starting to freeze on the trees.  My ds came out and picked me up so I could get to the grocery store because I told him I wasn't going to drive again today.  I don't think he believed me about the ice because there wasn't any in town.  Well, we just got back from shopping and now it's icing up all over.  It's still coming down as rain but is freezing on wherever it hits.  ds just dropped me off and headed right back home because soom it may get very bad on the roads.  He believes me now.  With all the rain, my yard is a big pool of water.  It's almost like my house is an island in the middle of a big lake.  Last night the weatherman said that we were suppose to be getting measurable snow but I don't know if that will come on top of the rain/ice or if we're getting it as rain instead of snow.  I'd rather deal with snow that this ice.

When you started your reply with " Gee Jacquie", I thought how did she know? That's because my maiden name was GEE!

Your remark about lunch out tickled me. When I finished tutoring at 11:30 today I had errands to run. As it is Lent, Arbys is serving fish sandwich. They actually use a fillet, not formed square and put a lot of shredded lettuce on the bun. Deep fried or not, I enjoyed it thoroughly. No fries, no drink. It was lovely to eat in the car and listen to the station of my choice on the radio. The main goal of the trip was to pick up some SAS loafers I'd ordered. They were ordered same size as pair I bought 3 years ago. The sales person suggested I try them on and sure enough, they didn't fit right. She gave me a pair 1/2 size smaller and a width larger and they fit fine (but were wrong color). No problem, she called another store and they will have the replacement pair on Friday. Nice to get some service. Of course, the shoes weren't cheap, but they are the only loafers with enough support and padding that I can walk a lot when traveling and they look good with everything. Last stop was to TJ Maxx to stock up on some lingerie. Got 3 Wacoal bras for $13 each, plus a pair of Colombia walking sandals for $17. They look a little clunky, but everyone who has them says they are perfect for long treks in the summer heat. At least they will keep my feet cool, because my feet swell when overheated.

Jacquie:

I have to wear shoes that have an open top, not regular Nikes or Reeboks for me.
