Godspell
Find a Conversation

Hi everybody, did I mention that last Sunday I got together with my "Crazy 8" girlfriends and we went out to dinner and then to the play Godspell? It was a lovely day weatherwise, we all met at a meeting place and then hopped into one car to get to the restaurant which was only a mile down the road, and what fun sitting around the round table so that we could all converse together instead of missing half the conversation. Thank goodness there were only six of us as two have moved out of state, so it's a rarity that they are with us. But our designated driver's DH bought a new car and it has the hump in the front seat (where I used to sit in the middle) so four of us got into the back seat and oh boy, we were so full of giggles and laughs from just being squashed. Of course, we have known each other since preschool days, and so the girl chosen to sit in the front seat was not offended when she got the passenger side because of a few "inches" which we all took in good stride. Anyway, when the car shuts off the drivers seat automatically reclines back or slides back so that the driver can get out easier, and the girl to my left and leaning against the door and my arms around her had the feeling she was falling out, but no, we were still locked in but couldn't get those darn seat belts on when we all got in the car--it was really quite funny if you can use your imagination and picture this.
After dinner we squeezed back in the car again, now a little plumper from dinner mind you, and only ½ mile or so to the theatre, and it was packed but in we went as seats were reserved, and Godspell was put on by local talent with only one professional that played the part of Jesus, but it was all done in rock and pop music and I'm not too sure it was "my thing". The story moved very fast and thank goodness I have some religeon as I did understand it but just not my type music, as I found most of the girls felt the same way also. But it was fun, and we all squeezed back into the car again and back to the meeting place and our own cars. I just can't get into all the funny things that happened, but when you know people for 65 to 70 years, boy--what a conversation.
One thing for sure, I think the other diners in the restaurant had a laurgh or two from us, and the poor waitress, she wouldn't even take a guess at our age but she told us she was 30 and we all went hysterical. Now, what is so funny about being 30 except when you present it to women over twice that age?
Just thought I would put in a cheery note and hope it goes through. Yeah, I'm going to highlight and past it into notebook just in case, I'm in a good frame of mind right now and why ruin it. Have a good day everybody, and my prayers are with all of you with all these distressing problems. I feel it is almost worse for the other person watching a person suffer and not know what to do for them, and I know that Cal, Rich and Betty are not at the best right now so special ongoing prayers for all of you.
Hugs to all.
