I need hip replacement surgery.

My appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon didn't have a very happy result.  I haven't scheduled it yet, but am thinking I might as well get it over with.  My heart feels like it's in my throat...needless to say, I'm upset & frightened.

It has been rainy & gloomy out for 2 days, but yesterday I saw a gorgeous rainbow!  A good sign?   Cal

(((cal))) our good friend just had hip replacement surgery today, she is 66,her daughter just called and said all went well. she will be released on friday to a nursing facility where her daughter is a nurse and they will care for her there until she is able to go home. another friends wife,57,had the total hip replacement 1 month ago and is doing really good!! i think rich also will be looking at that down the line as his hip is really deteriorating..both his parents had it and they were up and walking and out of hip pain. so stay positive,ok,i will keep you in my prayers. hugs mindy

Hi Cal:

I am sorry to hear that you need hip replacement, but the new hip joints they use today are really a marvel.

Always, Lou

Now the question is answered, no bone disease, just wear & tear. Anticipation is always the worst, so I suggest you get surgery scheduled ASAP. Just think of recuperating during the summer resting on your deck/porch and enjoying the warmth. I'm always grateful I've lived long enough that so many replacement surgeries are common and real engineering feats. Be sure to get a surgeon who has done a lot of these AND check out the hospitals records for MRSA infections.

Hi Cal--I am so happy you have a diagnosis and a cure. I know it is a lot to contemplate, but the benefits will be soo wonderful. I hope you can get this taken care of and can have many fun days this summer and on and on!!!
Also good to know you had a lovely Easter celebration with your family. Next year will be even better with your new hip!!
Hugs,

Cal I agree with all the girls, go ahead and schedule the surgery. I think you would want it done before really hot weather sets in. Then you will beable to take your trip to your getaway that you always do and really enjoy doing things this summer. We all wish you speedy recovery, look at Eldersis and what she is able to accomplish now that her surgery is done.

Prayers to you Cal and keep us posted as to when you will be having it done.

Hugs Betty
