Arm problem - how come?

Hi Guys,
For the past couple months I've been getting arm pain - it feels like lightening going down from the inside of the elbow to the wrist and there is a big blue popping vein (where the pain is). I'm 40. I've been trying to ignore it. For the past week inside of my elbow is swollen and alittle warm. I went to Urgent Care over the weekend and they gave me a prescription for a doppler study on my left arm (sonogram). Did anyone have this? This morning I woke up and my hand was numb with pins and needles. Weird!
I'm going for the test this week. Does anyone have any feedback on this condition I have?? I thought it was a blood clot but the doctor said probably not. Thank you so much for any info. Laura

Hello!

It sounds like something is going on with the nerves in your arm.

HI there,
Thanks for replying so quickly.
No, I don't have any pains in my shoulder or neck....It can't be that.
It's all from the inside of the elbow and down to the wrist. The pain is unbearable at times, I wake up from it. Why was my hand numb this morning for 1 minute?

Welcome back hocky,

A pinched nerve in your back or shoulder does not necessarily mean that you have pain there.
