Yeast Infection

Hi there,

I have a query, and if anyone has any advice or suggestions, it would be great.

I started the pill, and seem to get itchiness and burning every month now, most bothersome right before and during my period. They are very, very light symptoms and are on and off throughout the day - most often I barely notice it. I told the doctor about it, and she looked and said I appeared fine.

However, I'm worried it is a yeast infection, and information i've found on the internet says not to use tampons or have intercourse when you have an active yeast infection. Considering how little my symptoms are, and that they come back every month, does anyone have an opinion as to whether or not I can still engage in these activities? I don't really want to get myself over the counter creams and harsh anti-fungal stuff, especially since I don't even know if what I have IS a yeast infection. Other than little itching/burning, I have no symptoms.

Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated! I'm away from home and getting to a doctor is very hard right now!

Welcome!

It's pretty common to experience those symptoms while on the pill.
