Hi y'all...

I decided to post on this board based on the fact I'm a woman, and this is my 'other' health issue ;)

I won't go into the full medil history thing. For thos who read/ write on FT board, you may be familiar with recent shennanigans. Anyway, I started off with infected excemza, this led to bilateral cellulitis in my legs. I then got a chest ifection, and another. Then a kidney infection.

Anyway, after spending a couple of weeks in hospital over the last two months, and the chest pain worsening intermiitantly, I sought numerous medical advice. Finally, on Thursday last I was given a diagnosis in the ER.... I have tietze syndrome. Anyone heard of/ have experiences of the condition? I'm hatd pushed to find information about it, as it's classed a a "rare disease" which doesn't exactly put me at ease (!) Signs and symptoms include: chest pain that can radiate to the jaw, neck, arms, redness and / or warmness in the chest, a buring sensation in the chest, crushing sensation. Its symptoms are said to mimic those of heart attack or angina. But I'm assured this little known about inflammatory condition does not affect any major orgns. It can however causes discomfort and severe pain for weeks, months or years - or can re-appear during various intervals.

Is anyone else living with, or know someone else who is living with this condition? I woul love to hear from you!

Hey there

Thanks for your message. I will stick around... looks like a useful board, and hopefully someone somewhere may have some info/ experience of the condition :)

I went to see my GP this morning who has prescribed more steroids, but at a reduced dosage. It's incredible the difference the steroids have made thus far (though 8 per day is quite high) She's said she'll recommend me for other methods should the steroids not completely reduce the inflammation - such as cortisone injections and acupuntucre. I don't fancy the idea of acupuncture, but willing to give anything a go at present.

Take care x
